What faction would you have chosen at 16?

Discuss the June 2014 book of the month Divergent by Veronica Roth. While only Divergent--the first book of the series--is the book of the month, feel free to use this subforum to discuss the rest of the series or to talk about the movies, but make sure not to post spoilers unless noted in the topic title.

I probably would have picked erudite. I could see myself in amity or abnegation but erudite would be most comfortable for me. I feel like I would be able to speak my mind there and be honest about how I feel, without suppressing my true feelings.

I probably would have been born into Amity, but I would have picked Erudite. I enjoy knowledge. I like to learn new, cutting edge ideas.

My dad would have been a dauntless and my mom a erudite. At sixteen I was a big daddy's girl and I love the spirit of the dauntless, although, I'm a lot like the amity. But after reading the book and watching the movie, I would say that I would have picked dauntless. This is because I don't like trouble makers or people that pick on others and even though I tend to be a amity, I would not be about to not stand up for someone else and put the trouble maker in their place. So, Dauntless it is.

If I were to chose today: Erudite. But at 16? That's really tough! I am inclined to think that I would have chosen either Erudite or Dauntless.

I would probably have been born into candor. My father practiced law and my mother can sometimes be painfully honest. I think I might have chosen either candor or erudite. I love knowledge, but like my parents, I value truth above all else (except maybe forgiveness). I think choosing a path for your life at 16 is too early for most kids. Knowing what you're going to do for the rest of your life when you're just in high school? No way!

I believe I would have chosen Dauntless due to the fact that I would want to be able to stand up for what I believe in. Even though I have a lot of the Abnegation and Amity in me, I also have a good helping of the Candor. But I have more of a desire to keep order and keep others safe.

I would've chosen Erudite or Dauntless...
One one hand I'm addicted to knowledge-I can't get enough of it and even now, I do college courses online, even though I'm not even in high school yet.
On the other hand however, I am also very rash and have very few fears. I feel like I would be well suited in either faction.

If it were up to me, I would have chosen Erudite because of the amazing things they have and I am really curious to know what the machines they have do :D

I think I would've been born into Amity , as my parents are very into the whole kindness, self-sufficiency and trust. When I turn 16 I would've chosen dauntless.. I like to think of myself as the gutsy one in the family.. always ready to taken on new challenges and standout as a fighter :)

I would have chosen Erudite because my family, and myself, put a lot of value in education. Also I personally always like to have as much information as I can on something, so I feel I would fit right in with always researching and studying.

Agreed. I still have no idea what I want to do "when i grow up" haha. And I'm 25.

I would've definitely chosen Candor. Not sure where I would have been born into. In a world like that I dont think my parents would have ever ended up together though. So maybe I would never have been born.

Knowing my luck I would have been born into the boring abnegation I would have probably chosen dauntless for sure but a am a little of everything so knowing my luck again I would have actually been divergent. So basically I am Tris and that movie is my biography so get on my level lol!
