I like going down by the Potomac River in MD. There are tons of little parks (which used to be canal stops for the C&O canal). The parks and towpath lead all the way to Washington DC ultimately. It it a remarkably peaceful and historic place in a highly populated area.

On a road trip. It's the journey sometimes, and not just the destination! :)

Personally, I either like a library or a Second Cup-style coffee shop. The aura in both places is very calming.

I love going to this "family restaurant" down the street from me with my laptop and just eating a bit and drinking from their "drink bar" while I write.
