Desperate for discussion

Post by Kallista »

Greetings,

I am a relatively nomadic turtle biologist by day and an voracious reader by night. It is my goal to read three books a week, which has been going well (a relative term - I am happier, but somehow less social...). I am currently oscillating between Jane Austen inspired novels and the myriad versions and contortions of the Iliad. My preferences are directly linked to the availability of books at my fingertips, so I have been known to read anything from Carl Sagan (<3) to post-apocalyptic zombie romance.

As the title states, I lack people to discuss my passion. Somehow there are more turtle biologists than readers in my life! Ran across this site and hope to fill a growing deficiency in my daily life ^_^.

I look forward to chatting you up,
K.

I generally like to see what others are interpreting and getting from books, so its hard to argue when "everyone is right" ^_^.

And no, turtles are not nomadic. They tend to stay in one place for about 40 years. I, however, have reoccurring bouts of wanderlust and rotate through studying different turtles in different ranges. My proclivity for vague modifiers is something I never felt the desire to correct - I think it adds fun and interpretation to commentary (not to mention wiggle room in those arguments I never have ^_~).
