What Temp is your Thermostat set at?

Still 62, 19 degrees F. outside...

Woke up this morning hubby had it set for 60! I nearly froze to death! It is now set at a comfy 68.....

62 and 50 outside. It won't kick on anymore today.

Funny we use a wood stove for heat in TN and we have no thermostat. Feel cold…throw a log in, lol.

But then there's the chore of chopping wood

I have always thought that chopping wood is one of those good chores. It just makes you feel so alive swinging that axe!

Yeah well that sounds a bit old fashioned My husband uses the chainsaw and I love using the log splitter. I love cool machines

Where I used to live was an old ghost town in the mountains of Utah. Just about everyone there had wood stoves. Some had propane, but that was too expensive for our blood. To me it seemed the heat from a wood stove was friendlier. We burned juniper mostly, we got it from where they had the wildfires. All you needed was a chain saw and a truck and you were set. Work all summer getting the winter wood in and throw another log on the fire, Ma.

We had a wood stove at the house where I grew up in north Memphis. Only one in the neighborhood apparently, and when there was a big ice storm in 1994 that knocked out all the electricity, we were the only house with heat, so all my friends came and stayed with me for a couple of nights.
