I prefer Paranormal, but I haven't quite given the others a chance. I need to, but just can't afford it.

I don't like historic nor paranormal, so I'd have to say I much prefer modern. I like to be able to relate to people and situations. Granted, I've never read a paranormal erotic romance story. It just seems too weird for me. Maybe I'd change my mind if I read one. I've tried historic romance, and I just couldn't take to it :( I have many cherished modern erotic/romance novels and among my favourites is Sienna Mynx's (Mi Carino/Carina Series)

I very much prefer paranormal and historical subgenres. I have to say though, that it takes a lot to sell me on some of the erotica novels. At times it seems like they try too hard, and sometimes they are all so unremarkably similar that it's a snooze fest. It takes a lot for a writer to bring a unique twist of their own to the genre.

I must say, I'm extremely partial to paranormal romance/erotica.
Modern isn't too much of a mental escape/fantasy, and historical doesn't have the same enticing elements. Now, if paranormal and historical is combined, well...that would be another matter entirely.

I don't believe I've ever read paranormal romance. I may have to look that up since I see so many people into it. I can't even imagine quite what that would be exactly. I enjoy modern, myself. I also like historical if it's from WAY back. Like more fairy tale and renaissance- kings and queens and medevil type. Which sort of ties in with fantasy in a way. I also love a good romantic and erotic pirate tale.

It honestly depends on my mood. The ones I tend to gravitate towards are paranormal and historical. But, I have been on a bit of a modern streak lately.

I recently became a fan of paranormal romance, though I do prefer modern/contemporary just a wee bit better. Ultimately, though, it depends on how it is written.

Happy reading!

I like the paranormal anyway so it just fits me.
Plus I like when an author can pull me completely into the fantasy world they build.
So yeah...paranormal

I like this topic! Thank you for it.
I'm hoping this site eventually has a seperate section for the different sub-genres (or at least a way to sort it easily) for both romance and fantasy/sci-fi.
I get so disappointed when I click onto a book because it sounds paranormal and it isn't :?
We need tags, or somewhere to put key words in the first post, or something.

I'm very interested to see further posts :D
Tags would be awesome (and sub-genres). I'd like for romance/erotica not to be grouped together.

My roots are in paranormal. I enjoy reading modern/contemporary and (some) historical, but I always go back to paranormal.
