I loved reading this book. I found the story extremely gripping and the emotions of the characters in the story quite interesting. I loved the pace and the writing style of the author. I was also quite impressed with the movie adaptation. It is a must read.

This book had my attention from the first chapter until the end. The twist and turns were beyond captivating! It was so refreshing to read a book without a predictable plot. I found the movie very true to the book. Probably helped that the author also wrote the script. As always so glad I read the book first.

I think I'll give this a read over the summer. Relationships are messy things and I'm interested to see whether the novel adequately explores this without resorting to tired old stereotypes and cliches.

I have to admit... I became interested in this book when the movie began to circulate. I know! I'm terrible and I hate doing that. But hey! At least I got into it. The over all twists of this book were fascinating to me. I think that when an author can take something and plot it out so that the reader will be so intrigued that they won't know what is happening next is really a talent. It is certainly a talent that I do not think every author has and one that is really needed more often. This one got a 4 out of 4 for me!

5 star.
Read the book in a few hours.... skipped work, and read it in a park. Couldn't put it down. However, I hated the movie.

'Girl on a Train' is even better.. :D

I'm a little behind on reading this one but am so glad that I finally picked it up. I am bad about reading new releases because I'm so in love with the oldies but goodies but this book did not disappoint. I loved this book from beginning to end, I was literally on the edge of my seat through most of the book. I have a habit of figuring out the end well before halfway through with a book or a movie but this one kept me on my toes. I thought I had the ending figured out several times but was wrong on every account. It was very well written, I didn't have any lapses that couldn't keep my attention. The ending was kind of disappointing to me but kept with the story line.

I have to say, a LOT of people I know read this book and hated the ending. I personally couldn't put it down, and thought the ending was completely appropriate to the characters and the story. It's not very often that a book can surprise me, but this one had me shouting out loud multiple times. It was like riding a roller coaster! Very well written, full of surprising twists and turns...you can't ask for much more! I haven't seen the movie yet, but I generally prefer books to movies anyhow!

I loved this book, I thought it was fascinating and the way you kind of were led off the scent was really well done. It was definitely a hooker-- once I got into it I couldn't stop reading and just read nonstop practically until I finished!

It's one of those books that definitely makes you think twice. This book was a thriller and the huge plot twist in the middle basically made me gasp. I couldn't recommend this more to anyone, but also I don't want to keep writing for fear I'll give something away! Read it! It's so good!

I absolutely LOVED this book. This is one of the rare books where I watched the movie before the book, and I was afraid that would ruin my experience with the novel, since I knew the plot twist going into the book. However, Gillian Flynn's writing is so amazing that I didn't even feel like I'd missed out. The book was impeccably written with the right balance of sharp, sardonic wit and humour.

The idea of marriage is completely eviscerated in this novel. Gillian Flynn absolutely crucifies the characters of both men and women, and there's a lot of sexism. It isn't something I could even be angry about because she was just as harsh about the realities of men as she was with women. However, even though the characters are unlikeable, I was still completely transfixed by their story. The writing was so sharp and a little scathing. Amy and Nick's voices were entirely different, which is hard to do when the book splits between perspectives, but Gillian Flynn handles it like a pro.

I can't wait to read her other books.

I'm reading gone girl now and I love it! Its so interesting to see the different points of view from Nick and Amy and how they differ but later on come together. Its pretty intense and I can't wait to see how it ends.

I have to admit I'm one of the many who didn't enjoy the ending. It's a book that had a couple of mountain tops, but for the most part was more of a "kiddie ride" than a roller coaster I'd ride again. Flynn's characters were strong -- if you can get me to hate Nick and feel sorry for him at the same time you deserve some level of applause. Amy felt little contrived to me, but overall I bought into it.

Until the end. When everything fell apart. I hate it when I feel like an author just got tired of writing and decided to make a list of loose ends and tie them all up -- which is what I felt here. It's almost as if Flynn's editor said "a book much longer than this won't sell," so she just said " and that's the end. " Really disappointing. I felt like she dropped her characters as people, which made me resent the first 2/3 of the book for making me invest.

Ah well...I don't resent having read it, I just wish it had ended better!

I thoroughly enjoyed Gone Girl; the plot twists and interesting, complex characters made me want to keep on reading! If you are new and haven't read Gone Girl, I suggest going into the book knowing as little as possible; just dive right into it and be surprised! I love how Flynn added so much depth to the characters and really made you get invested in them. I am a little on the fence about the ending as many are, but I do appreciate how it made me think...

I was intrigued by how Gillian Flynn told the story of "Gone Girl". This was definitely a book that kept me turning the pages. I couldn't put the book down! Once I had finished the book it took me a couple days to really think about what I had happened. I was angry, happy, and frustrated all at once with how the story was concluded. In the end, I decided I liked the ending, it really summed up Nick and Amy's relationship in a way that stayed true to the book.

I have to say I am not yet finished reading this book, however I am very close! I have been enjoying this novel and it is hard to put down, I always want to find out what will happened next! Even though I haven't completed it yet, I rated it a 3 because it hasn't had me overly excited. I feel that it is a bit slow and I am not normally into a mystery type...I'm a typical love story kind of girl, not a love story goes wrong. I am very happy that I tried something new though and I cant wait to finish it and watch the movie!
