Wow! Alynn. How do you do that? I can never pass a store without stopping in and purchasing something. I thought I was doing really well until now. I spent $10 last month on books. So far this month, I have spent $2.99 on an ebook that I just had to have.

Gee, I could outspend the lot of you with one magazine. (OK, maybe that's not brag-worthy.) I used to spend a fortune on books, and I have a huge collection, but then I lost interest in collecting. These days, I'm more likely to spend my coin on woodworking/remodeling. I've bought a lot of paint recently and have been sprucing things up in the bathroom and kitchen. I guess in the past month I've spent... well, possibly nothing on books, because I still have so many unread ones, ya know?

Zelda, I really wish I had your self-control. I have books that I need to read as well. It's just that I can't seem to go a month without seeing a new novel or ebook that I must have.... I am so thankful for ebooks because if I didn't have one I'd be buried in books by now.

Oh yeah? Well, for me, I love having bookshelf displays, ya know? Two of my bookshelves are tallish, with five shelves that are each only an inch or less higher than my paperbacks, for maximum book display.

Trust me on this, I have NO self control. (But I appreciate the thought.) :-D I've just rerouted my shameless spending into other channels for now. :-P

Well, since I moved overseas, my income is all in yen, yet my Kindle only allows for me to purchase from the US site, meaning that I either have to pay in $ or pay the extra cost for the conversion fee. And the exchange rate is terrible right now, so it's not practical or economical. In the end, I have to force myself to "buy" only free books, or else I couldn't even pay my electric bills. I also don't have a lot of access to new books in general, unless I go searching online for them. Not being exposed to them and not being around bookstore with books I can actually read helps a lot. :)
