My HIghland Love by Tarah Scott is a fictional Romance novel that takes place in the higlands of Scottland. The book was fast paced and the storyline was not overshadowed by Elise and Marcus's love life. Tha't's the biggest part I look for in these types of novels, is if the erotica will overshadow everything else. I know for myself and for others that can create an eye rolling theme and bring the book down. The storyline however, I thought was well written and everything tied in wonderfully.

Eise, the main female character of the book, faces many trials in her life from the death of her child to her step father trying to take her inheritance, but in the mix of it all she finds a stranger who is willing to do whatever it takes to have her as his own. Elise was a very easy charater to relate to on many levels. She is stubborn and she fights for what she wants, she is caring and she looks out for her friends and she carried the burden of what happened to her daughter and what she thought happened to her brother. Marcus is also easily relatable. He is a man who does not flaunt his money or his power and treats those beneath him as his equals, he is determined and protective.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It was fast paced and I had a hard time putting it down. The emotions were there and the scenery and characters were well described. I found that it was very easy to see what was happening. The romance was subtle and didn't over take the story line, which for me is a big thing. I love action with a twist of romance and not the other way around,Tarah Scott really played it out well.

There were two issues that I picked out while reading. One, grammatical errors. There was not a terrible amount, however, there was enough for me to become annoyed, I found that it was mostly words missing from where they should be and words in a sentence that did not belong there. Two, throughout the book, whole sentences and partial sentences were in bold. Other than that I have not found any other issues with the book.

I rate this book a 3 out of 4 stars. I would have given it a 4 stars however, I find that I cannot over look the errors that I found in the book. I would recommend this book to all the romantics out there. It was fast paced and exciting and I thinks everybody else would enjoy this book also. I look forward to reading the next book.

I agree with you that the erotica in a romance novel should not overshadow the storyline; after all, you are reading a story. Romance as a genre is one that can surprise many readers if they will but shallow their pride, and read the story for the story.

Thanks for pointing out the grammatical errors; if the story is well-written I think I can overlook them.
