You do know that I was only joking, right? Thanks for attempting that behemoth of a job. Really, it would probably be the work of a group of moderators, so you're brave to tackle it alone :)
I know and you are right about needing more mods for the shelves. :)

I have to report the books first and only then I can merge them. :geek:

@"Ryan", I fixed the Harry potter's books. Please let me know of any other problems and report it. :)

Great work on those Potter books. Very neat. Thanks! :D

Maybe other moderators aren't needed after all ... :eusa-think:

@ryanj1 I have made you a Bookshelves Moderator.

Currently, a moderator can still respond to their own reports. However, the plan is to make it so a moderator can only approve/delete reports by other members. That way it will require at least 2 people to confirm that a certain spelling of a book is the correct spelling even if both are moderators. Accordingly, the plan is to have a sufficient number of Bookshelves moderators to deal with the volume of corrections needed.

-- 25 Mar 2015 05:07 pm --

As for an increase in misspellings not being prevented through suggested duplicates, the suggestions only occur when adding a book one at a time. The suggestions do not occur with the mass adder. The mass adder still checks for definite duplicates but doesn't suggest possible duplicates.

Oh ... wow! That's awesome! Thanks!

I think if you wanted more moderators, it might be a good idea to ask a few of the editors whether or not they'd be interested. Generally, they're all an experienced bunch with a real interest and knowledge of the site and I think they'd be very willing :)

-- 26 Mar 2015, 01:32 --

In my excitement I forgot to ask about the general process. I'm not actually sure what I'm meant to be looking for. I assumed that moderators would be notified of any reports and then directed to the issue, but so far there's nothing at all to indicate where I should be regarding those reports or even the role itself. Is the process for BMs different from GMs or is there yet to be integrated an automatic notifier for the former? Or is that you're waiting for more BMs before other things are added? If so, my apologies. I was also wondering whether BMs can at some point expect their own page to manage things like this much more easily?

Apologies for my ignorance, but I'm very confused about where exactly I need to be. Could you please point me in the right direction? :)

@"Ryan", Congratulations and good morning :)

You should have a special page to mod, but Scott best answers that.

I really don't see anything new. I've searched everywhere. There must be an error. I hope so, anyway, and I'm not just being stupid

Oh so you are not psychic?

I have added a link in the navigation links on Bookshelves in the upper-right-hand corner next to the link to view your own shelves. It says MCP. This goes to the Moderator Control Panel for Bookshelves. To be clear, I just added this now; it was not there before.

The moderating system for Bookshelves is partially a work in progress. Please feel encouraged to suggest new tools for members to use to flag things for the moderators and new or better ways for the moderators to fix misinformation in Bookshelves.
