Two things.....my desire to eat and the darn internet. I am constantly getting up and down to find something to nosh on, and if I'm anywhere near an internet or wi-fi connection, I find it hard to ignore the call to check my mail or FB.

People who insist on constantly interrupting your reading! It drives me crazy to have to keep putting my book down to engage in conversation with someone when all I want to do is read!

It's annoying when you are reading a REALLY good part of a book and someone keeps trying to talk to you!

When my husband decides he has to share a passage in a book he's reading, and reads it out loud, without asking me if I even want to hear it!

Sometimes I get so deep into a book I don't hear whats going on around me. Someone starts calling my name over and over and over and its like your being forced to wake up out of your dream. You finally look up and the question is "oh you were smiling I was just wondering what the joke you read was". Then i'm like "huh" because i'm reading suspense. "The book is just really good would you like to read it when i'm finished". Then they say "oh no I don't like reading cant even finish the first chapter" then it takes me awhile to get back into the zone. Grrrhh.

My attempt at reading and listening to music at the same time has been caused an extra hour in actual reading time. Something that does trouble me is when I attempt to take notes and hold the book at the same time. Then I lose grip on the book and it keeps on closing. Then I eventually give up on taking notes. Irks me to no end.

Anything disrupting reading time really drives me nuts, but the absolute worst has got to be when I lived with my parents and would read in my room so that I wouldn't be interrupted and my dad would drag me into the family room for "non-reading" family time where we all watch Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune where he gets 90 plus percent of the answers before we do anyway. How is that family time and why is it a better use of my time than reading? I never got it, and he still gets irritated with the volume of books and reading that I do, something about stunting my social growth. I'm 25, I think most of the social stunting has already been done.

I have to agree with Reviewer Age777...."my need to sleep", is by far the biggest annoyance. Weighing in at a close 2nd is having to cook. Yes! My kids get to eat...lol. We just own a bevy of take out menus :D

Domestic chores. Without a doubt there's nothing worse than getting to a great part in my book and having to lay it to one side so I can make dinner. However, if have the house to myself it's not usual for me to skip dinner and just snack on whatever is in the fridge so I can keep reading

Oh that is my biggest pet peeve when it comes to reading! At previous jobs I used to read at lunch and have people coming in and wanting to have full on conversations and they always begin by asking "oh are you reading?" "nope just looking at the words..."

When people talk to me!! I can't help but show that I'm annoyed, and I don't even feel guilty when they apologize (if they did), because they could SEE that I'm reading but they still interrupt my reading! And those who never learn are the worst! You can't even enjoy doing your favorite thing peacefully! :@

That seems to be the general concensus of an annoying disruption.

My husband seems to love to try to engage in conversation while I'm in the middle of a good book. So I tend to wait til my household is asleep to read and then the need to sleep myself always catches up with me! ugh!!
