I forget authors names all of the time. I usually have a list of authors when I go into a bookstore so I do not leave without all of the books I want. Goodreads has saved me a lot of time and frustration. I can just look up books and authors I have enjoyed and make my list. :D

I tend to remember the title of the book first. Which is helpful because then I can just look up the author. However, every once in while I will run across an author whose book is so good I remember them instantly. Usually it takes me three or four of their books before I remember them though.

I usually remember the author (I think lol) for me it's really the title or maybe the series name. But I completely understand what you mean about Nora Roberts. Hannah Howell has a historical romance series (The Murrays) that was absolutely wonderful that I bought the first 15 books of the series. However, the books all ended up being the same after awhile. Plus it was starting to become so confusing as to which books she did write was actually part of the series as she also wrote stand-alones with characters of the same last name as of the ones in her Murray series. I will still read the series, and do still enjoy it, but I haven't bought a new book from her in years.

I almost never remember the authors and it is awful of me! For me I care primarily about the story and that retains all my focus. Even titles are often forgotten but I can remember almost every event in every book I have read when I think about it. Even when I read a book I do not like I still generally forget the author. Sometimes that is to their advantage though because I give other books of theirs a try without retaining the negative connotation I got from the one I did not like.

I'm glad I've seen this - I thought it was my age! I can remember an author's name if I've read a few of their books, but nowadays I buy a book based on cover and description and if it feels like being 'a good read'. The author's name is not really important. I think there are so many other things that fill our heads these days that an author's name is easy to forget, but the story can always be remembered.

I also have fibromyalgia, and my memory is horrible because of it. I can remember author names who are very popular if I've read any of their books. But other than that? Sometimes I can forget the plot of a book days after reading it. That's okay though, while i'm reading, i'm totally invested.

I forget authors names all the time unless I write them down, most times I have to Google the name of the book to remember though. If I read one book and find I like it, I like to see if there are more books by that author that I will enjoy.

I only read books by an author named O. Whatshisface, so it's never a problem. 8)

Ha ha ha! I actually find it easy to remember authors' names. It's the long book titles I have trouble remembering.

He has! It's that book about...you know, about the thing.

I usually only remember ones that I really like and have read several books from. Other than popular authors who you hear about in the news and such.

Quite a few years ago, I read a book written by someone I don't remember. Last month, I bought a book from the thrift store, and half way through it, it seemed somewhat familiar. When I got to the last page and read the last sentence, I realized that I had read this book before. I'd tell you what the title of the book was, but I can't remember it, the author's name, nor even what it was about.
