Immortals After Dark- What's your favorite Pair? *spoilers*

Post by Thimble »

What is your favorite romantic pair in Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark? It could be for any reason. So far I really like Lothaire and Ellie the best, mostly because of Ellie. I think she's one of the stronger female leads (strength and personality-wise). But, I would love to hear from other people on this!

I loved Will and Chloe. I think Will's character has been the deepest one yet when it comes to the heroes. He truly seemed to have a conscience and is more open with his emotions. His hatred of Succubae was justified and yet he really tries hard for Chloe and doesn't leave her. He seemed a little less overbearing than the previous heroes as he acknowledged his mate's strength instead of flaunting his machismo.

Wow, I don't know that I can pick just one but if I have to I'd have to say..... I loved Lothaire & Elizabeth, her redneck ways coupled with his pomp and arrogance just cracked me up! It's not so much the couples themselves that I love so much tho, it's everything Cole adds into it. I can't wait for Nix to have someone come along and snag her! It'd take a special sort of being to tackle that big ole bag of crazy! That's one story I'm really looking forward to one day.

This is also one of the few authors that I purchase the audio books for, as well as read them. Robert Petkoff always reads her Immortals After Dark series and you couldn't ask for a better reader, he brings each character to life in an unique and special way. You completely forget it's a man reading the book when he's portraying a woman. If you haven't yet checked out these on audible do it, it's worth it!

I read Will and Chloe after the other books. I agree that Will was more open with his emotions. I think this one was one of the more painful (in a dramatic way) books to read because of the situation both characters had to face. I really liked the end though. It was very enlightening and added to the ongoing lore of the series.

I didn't know the books are on audible. If I ever renew my subscription, I might have to check that out. I think one of my favorite parts about Elizabeth is that she was proud of where she came from and she was still intelligent. She wasn't a "dumb" redneck. I agree that it was a very amusing counterpoint to Lothaire.

Thimble, I HIGHLY recommend anything Robert Petkoff reads. He has primarily been a stage actor in the past and has done an amazing job with her stories. I used to be a book snob, wouldn't touch audio books but he has truly converted me. I love listening to these books while working. He adds a whole different level of enjoyment to these books.
