Francine Rivers

Post by csimmons032 »

I have never read any novels by Francine Rivers. I own a few and I have always wanted to read a couple of her books. Does anyone have any recommendations? Has anyone ever read anything from her? I have hear that she writes some good historical novels, and I would just like to know what everyone else thinks. Please let me know what you think. I would love to hear about the books that you recommend for me.

I've read several of Francine Rivers books. The first, and my favorite, one I read was Redeeming Love. I have a copy and pass it on to my friends who want to read it. It's based on the book of Hosea in the Bible. It's a book that shows God's Amazing Grace and love. The latest book I've read is Bridge to Haven which is based on the prodigal son. The Atonement Child is a tear jerker. You won't go wrong with Francine Rivers

I don't think you can go wrong with Francine Rivers. She is super talented. I feel like she thoroughly researches and weaves a unique story. I need to read more of her books because they are extremely well written.

I have heard of the Mark of the Lion series, and I was actually interested in reading it. I will give it a try at some point. Thanks for commenting.

I am in the middle of Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers and I am absolutely loving it! I thought it was a little harsh in the beginning, but I told myself to give it more of a chance and I am really enjoying it now. Has anyone read The Scarlet Thread? That is the only other book of hers that I own, so I will probably go for that one next.

I finished Redeeming Love and it was an excellent book. It was honestly one of the best books that I have read in a while. I will soon be starting The Scarlet Thread. It's the only other one I own, but I plan to by the Mark of the Lion series next :)

Thank you Leonie555 for responding to my post. I plan to read The Scarlet Thread next because it's the only other one of her books that I own, but after that I plan to buy the Mark of the Lion series so that I can read that one as well. If her other books are just as good as Redeeming Love then she might be marked up as one of my top five favorite authors. Have a wonderful day and thanks again :)

There is also The Shofar Blew and The Last Sin-Eater. Have you read the series about the women of the Bible. The one book is called Unashamed. I can't remember the other names now.
I moved house last weekend and the books have not made their way back to the shelves yet :)

Leonie555, thanks for recommending more books. I haven't read the series about the women of the Bible, but I will make sure to look it up some time. It does sound rather interesting. My parents and I just moved last year. It bugged me so much to just have my books just sitting in boxes lol. I have so many of them that I actually have them arranged in the order that I got them in, unless there are specific authors then I keep the books by the same author together. I wouldn't even let anybody help me put them back on my shelves though because I enjoy doing it so much. I know I am weird lol.

Nothing weird about that lol.....I am away on business and I told my husband to leave the books and that I shall unpack them on my return. When he insisted to help I told him 'Ok, but remember to alphabetise them by author.'
He gave me such a look!
So, I have this idea that he didn't touch my books!
Oh yes and I have looked up the women series. It is called the Lineage of Grace series.

I know the feeling Leonie555. My parents don't even ask to help me any more lol. They just leave me alone and let me do my thing. I will check out the Lineage of Grace series :) What other authors do you enjoy reading besides Francine Rivers?
