Have you read the series of books they have wrote? Which point of view did you prefer to read about? Why?

I read the True Blood series by Charlaine Harris before watching the TV show. There are similarities of course such as certain scenes and characters but the books take a different course and in my opinion are much better. I enjoyed reading Sookie's point of view as she has ties to both the human and supernatural world.

I read all of the books in the series before the show started. The books are much better. The show follows the books pretty well until the third or fourth book, then it seemed as if HBO needed up the wow factor or something and got creative with the plot lines.

I TOTALLY agree with you on this!! The books are so much better. I was so sad when the story line in the TV series went away from the novels. There was a quick jaunt back to the books for Eric to lose his memory, then away again. The characters are phenomenal how ever you slice it. Harris' other series are quite good too, if you are looking for something new to suck you in :)
