Yes! I hate it when I can't finish a book. It's like the author and I let each other down.

So much misery.

Not really. It doesn't take much for me to want to finish a book either. Usually within the first 50 pages, I get an idea whether I want to continue investing time in reading it.

I don't feel guilty if I don't finish a book. The only time I would feel guilty is if I am almost finished the book or it is a book that is part of a series.

No. But I'm also really good at picking up partially finished books, even years later, and finishing them. I just re-started a book that I hadn't touched in two years, for example. I didn't have to re-read anything. I guess I'm lucky?

I used to. But now if a book is just absolutely dreadful I will only read that one, then possibly the sequel before saying NO MORE! :D

I do have some difficulty quitting books before I finish them, but I don't feel guilty. I normally just feel frustrated because I have high hopes and wish to continue, but the book lacks and does not draw me in. The main reason that I end up quitting a book is because of the main characters. I'm very picky about how my main characters are written.

Not at all! If I'm struggling to get through, I put it down and find something else. Too many good reads out there. Always is a matter of opinion though :)

I do, especially if I purchased it on my Kindle. I usually will force myself to finish it. But now I don't purchase any book without downloading a free sample first. It has saved me so much by taking this simple step.

YES! I agree - I worry I will miss the turning point. My friends are always incredulous but I need to complete - dnf is not an acronym that features in my reading life!

I only feel guilty if I stopped reading the book because I have no time to read it. That usually happens when the book is a little slow to catch my interest. But once I stop, there's a good chance I won't pick it up again and that's probably not very fair.

I usually force myself to finish, which will make me feel guilty if I invested so much time in a not so good book when I could have been reading something better. I'll even finish whole series hoping it'll get better...it usually didn't. :-(

I do not feel guilt unless I really want to finish the book and then cannot because of time. Usually, even then I will still pick it back up at a later date and read it through. That I left it undone kind of gnaws at me until I finally see what it says.

I don't feel guilty if I've made a bad choice, and don't like the book, which I quit before I've read 25%. It is rare, but if I've read 75-80% and quit then I do feel guilty that I've not got to the end.

I think it depends on the book. I oddly feel more guilty about it if I've read and liked other books from the same author. For example, I couldn't get into J. K. Rowling's newest books and I felt incredibly guilty since her Harry Potter books were what made me really start to love reading years and years ago. Thankfully, in a normal situation, the guilt only lasts as long as it takes me to get into a new book so I'm not feeling guilty for long.

Yes! I currently am feeling.guilty about.not finishing this.boxed set I have on my kindle. I fell off from the books as the writing seemed to childish for me. I bought the boxed series because I am a Christmas fanatic and they were related.
