I love them because of that very reason (the permanence) and some can be beautiful! 8)

I have three - a flower piece across my back. A fairy on one wrist and a dandilion on the other. My picture is of a tattoo I was planning on getting, a thigh piece but I am making some changes to it. Slowly.

I love tattoos, admittedly some are horrible and I would cringe if they were on me but it's a form of art in my eyes and some tattoos are outstanding and beautiful. It's just personal preference I guess.

To me it is quite simple...if you love them (and I do) get them. If they unhinge you...and they obviously do some people...don't EVER get one.
Problem Solved.

I like how they look on other people, but I think I would get tired of one if I had one myself.

There's nothing more beautiful then a well done artistic tat. I don't have tattoos, but I love to look at Ink Master. I would like to get a symbol from one of my favorite books, but I'm afraid to enter a shop.

I've got six of them, the oldest (and ugliest - done with the old needle and thread method) dates back to when I was a very young teenager, it's about...mmm, 35-years old I would say. All of mine are old and I really don't even think about them until someone asks.

I have 4, but am wanting many more!
1. colorful fairie sitting in a crescent moon on my left shoulder blade
2. rosary on my left ankle going onto my foot
3. the date my husband and I first got together with a purple heart on both sides on my left wrist
4. "Better than I was, more than I am. And all of this happened, by taking your hand." on my right forearm

I got hooked! It started with a moon and pawprint design for my dog Luna, then I got two pawprints, one black and one purple, at separate times for the same charity, next came a lyric "not even stars last forever" across my ankle, lastly a nifty black and purple design of a pawprint in a heart for another charity. I definitely want more, just haven't decided what yet.

And I agree, if you like them, great! If you don't, also great! It's a free country

I have had well over a hundred in my time...but they have all been of the temporary variety. ;)
