Has anyone ever read Adriana Trigiani?

Adriana Trigiani is one of my favorite authors. Her books all deal with love, life and family and of course her beloved Italy.

Most of her books are about people who have a passion for life and a a skill such as shoemaking as in 'The Shoemaker's wife';'Lucia Lucia'; 'Big Stone Gap'; 'Rococo' and 'Queen of the Big time'.

I love her books! They're all about the struggle and pain of life, but picking yourself up and coming out victorious.

I've read two of her books: "Big Stone Gap" and .............opps! forgot the whole name of the other...something about ......Cherry Holler". They were excellent! Characters were real and funny, and made you feel like packing up and moving there. Not a boring page in either book. I know she's been writing more, but for some reason haven't gotten around to looking them up. Have to put them on my list. She is an excellent writer!

It's "Big Cherry Holler", and yes, she makes me fall in love with the places she describes, even though I've never been there.
The food, the people and the Mediterranean air are so perfectly encapsulated in all her writing.

I have read "Big Stone Gap" and loved it. I will try another one of her book sometime.

I really like the Big Stone Gap series. The place the story is based on actually is very close to where I live in Virginia. I am excited to see that the movie they have been filming based on this book is due to come out this month. Even more exciting is that true to the name, it is actually filmed in the Big Stone Gap area. I hope that they stay very close to the story line of the book.

I really like this series. It is pretty neat to read the series that has a lot of geographical references to places close to me. My mother -in - law also borrowed these books from me and said that she had a hard time reading them because of the geographical references. She said she was taking the references more literal and paying less attention to the story line trying to locate all of the places in the story. I found the story a very easy to read and one of the stories that I could remember parts of much later on. The only parts I didn't care for were in the later books in the series, once she has a relationship with the love interest, there seems to be a lull in the story like she wasn't sure where to take it next.
