I love fan fiction. In it, it's like everything is possible. Couples, story lines, AUs - everything we didn't get to see in the original can come to life in the fanfics. I've read some amazingly written ones, and some others that were not that good. But in all cases I appreciate the love their authors had for the characters and the world. My favourite fanfics are after anime series, but there some after books I love - mostly in the Harry Potter and Percy Jackson unverses. When I had to wait between books, the fan fics were a salvation. Now I like reading them somtimes, to remind me that the magic isn't over.

I have only ever found one fanfiction that I actually liked, and it was Les Miserables. All the other fanfiction I have ever read has been poorly written, or erotic, or both. I am a grammar Nazi, and erotic novels are not my cup of tea, so I really am not into fanfiction.

I like reading fan fiction. I think it is a nice way to connect with people who share the same passion as you. I also like reading it if I am reading a series I really like and I am waiting for the next book to come out I enjoy reading fan fiction in the meantime because I still get to enjoy the characters just in a different way.

I like fan fiction, and I think it has a similar appeal as comic books (all of the different story lines that you can follow about the same characters)

I haven't read too much fan fiction. A friend of mine writes and I read her work but other than that I haven't really read much. I haven't been able to get into the genre of writing. I might try a few more.

I've only looked at one of these sites once or twice when a friend saw something which might interest me. After I finish a book, I usually move on to the next one fairly quickly. I don't think I would like someone trifling with those characters or changing the writers intent or my interpretation of it.

Like you if I see a movie or read a book I really like I'll look up fanfiction for it. To me fanfics are just another way to see that story/movie.

I only read Harry Potter fan fiction, and I really like that. Some of the writings are actually really good! I think it's a great way for writers to be to get confidence in writing.

On a different note, 50 Shades of Grey was originally written as twilight fan fiction :)

I love fanfiction because some books that are pretty, freaking, awesome can be made more to my taste when reading fanfiction. For example adding in more fighting and action, fixing a major plotline or adding back story to some characters and making them more powerful or mysterious. I too believe some people think fanfiction is horrible form of a book and a waste of internet space and time. However when you read a book even if the plotline is amazing, if the characters are flat you won't want to read it. Fanfiction can put the characters you love into different settings or even just fix some things that you completely hated about a book and make it so much better. I realize different people have different tastes but come on I don't judge what you like to do so why are judging what I like to do? Let bygones be bygones like the quote says. God people care way too much in this world.

I don't really mind fan fiction. Sometimes I read fan fiction, especially if I love the book/series. Sometimes you could find awesome stuff.

Fan fictions I belive are fun to read. I understand why authors may get upset about it. But people are curious. They want to see an ending that they would like to see. Or what would happen if the characters where to grow a different way. Fan fiction is the perfect way to help satisfy curisosity.

I'm a big fan of fan fiction as well. Just like anywhere else there are going to be a lot of really badly done stories but there are also some really awesome stories! I enjoy the fact that there are always more "what if's" out there. I also like crossovers that mix up two different stories in interesting ways.

I was really addicted to the BBC Sherlock too! I was really inspired to dive into the complete collection of Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes story after that. I think Fan Fiction exists in more ways than people realize :D

I usually end up reading it without realizing what it was until after the fact. The few that I've read, I've liked. So I guess I like it well enough as long as its well written and interesting.
