I often read before bed as a way to relax. But if I am nearing the end of an exciting book it will often have the opposite effect and keep me awake half the night.

When i read late at night, or I'm already tired, it tends to relax me and cause me to fall asleep. However, when I read during the day or when I am not tired, it doesn't necessarily affect me. Often, I want to keep reading a book so i force myself to stay awake to finish the chapter, or ocassionally finish the book itself.

I do get sleepy occasionally if I've had a long day. If I've slept in like I do on the weekends, I could read all night if I really wanted to! Reading is one of the most relaxing hobbies I believe a person can have and I'm sure a lot of us do get very tired after a while.

I do get sleepy myself sometimes when I read, but I don't find it annoying. More like, a relaxation technique. I used to suffer from lack of sleep because I'm a light sleeper. Any sound and bump in the night would wake me up. I still do suffer from it. Therefore, when my eyes feel tired after reading chapter after chapter. I will always smile knowing I will get a satisfaction of gaining my sleep back as a reward and also seeing my book as a life saviour, while looking forward to my next chapter.

I like to read but this is actually one of the reasons I do read is to help my mind relax so I can go to sleep quicker.

Reading requires focus and attention, so I think it's natural to become sleepy. One tires from concentrating on any task, really. I find that if I'm growing weary I close the book for a moment and do the *head shake, firm eye blinks, deep inhale* and return.

It's worked for me, and I actually have found that if I push through the weariness it makes me a stronger reader--like I'm training my brain not to give up.

Yes I get sleepy while reading. Doesn't everyone? But I always have the best sleep when I do because there's no tossing and turning. My eyes grow heavy, I close my book, roll over and I'm out. If I'm lucky I'll dream about my book!

I do as well get tired while reading. It is much worse in bed but even sitting on the couch reading a book I could just fall asleep. Sometimes I have to force myself just one more page!

I get pretty sleepy when I read a boring book with nothing but a bland setting. It happens in the first ten pages or so.

The only time I have gotten sleepy is when I read in bed. And that depends on the book, I have laid in bed for over 4 hours and read and only put them down then because I had to get up in a couple hours for work so figured I neede some sleep.

I don't tend toward getting sleepy while reading, but it has been many a book that has kept me reading, no matter how tired I was, because I could not put it down, and when I tried, I picked it up again a few moments later to read on. A recent example of this was with Jack London's White Fang.

Hope this finds you well.
