I mostly agree with this, because people too often try to put God in a box, and often mistake man-made doctrines for Biblical teachings (I am speaking from a Christian perspective).

It's difficult to say, because it depends on what you're definition of dogma is. My understanding is that dogma is the fundamental assumptions of a particular philosophical outlook.

So in the case of Christianity: God is real; God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit; God the Son came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Virgin Mary and become man; God the sun was crucified died and was resurrected; etc

From these dogmatic, fundamental assumptions a particular philosophical outlook is adopted, and doctrine is developed in accordance with this.

I think it is better to say that it's not dogma which is the issue, but an obsession with particular doctrines that have failed to be analysed in light of dogma.
