I'm new here, Where do I post?

Post by Kat7289 »

Hello, I'm new here.

All I want to know is a good book recommendation. I do very much like rescue stories, Police stories etc. A book with a fairly large amount of stories, similar to the style of Chicken Soup for the Soul books.

I've been wondering, where do I post? It seems like I do not know where to put my question. I would rather like help, than to be talked to about rules about "You can't post your question here.". Please, can anyone tell me where to post my question? This is very confusing.

Thanks in advance,

Kat

Welcome!

For book recommendations, you should post on the 'General Book & Reading Discussion' thread. No need to open another thread asking about it.

You should post it on the Introductions Forum.

I believe I did post on the General Book and Reading Discussion, but supposedly I wasn't suppose to post there so it got deleted.

You should first check to see if there are threads on the same subject. If there aren't such threads, you can open a new one on the General Book and Reading Discussion. Anyway, you can find plenty of books recommendations here: Reviews and Discussions about Specific Books and Series Forum

Gali, I believe I should have posted a new thread because I don't think anyone mentioned a specific book I am looking for. Plus, I would just like a simple recommendation, instead, people are talking about rules. Of course, I follow the rules, but, when that's all you get for replies, it's kind of disappointing. Someone is looking to get me a book for Christmas, and since Christmas is so close I would have to hurry and find a good book, then tell the person that's what I want so that they can order it in time for Christmas. I'm not getting a book that I like anymore because it's been about 4 days to get an answer from this book forum site, and all the replies were almost all about rules, if not rules, still no recommendations. Is this fair? I'm very unpleased with this website. I hope you can improve and I am not at all mad, just very disappointed.

Unfortunately, by first posting off-topic (which is why your posts were deleted) in other threads, and then titling this thread as you did, other users could not know what you wanted, and so could not help. I'm very sorry you've not found what you wanted. If you do decide to stick around and ever try again I suggest you title your thread in a clearer manner so that other users will be able to help you.

Merry Christmas.

I am sorry for any inconvenience, and I hope you will find out what you seek. As was suggested above, you are welcome to open a new thread on the forum I specified, clearly stating what you are looking for both on title and on the subject. Good luck and Merry Christmas.

Also, I don't know if this helps but, if you like cats, this book (A Very Furry Christmas: Holiday Cat Tales) might be something to look at. The link will take take you to the review thread and it was rated four out of four :)

Thanks for the replies. Even though I did post in the wrong section (not this thread), I would've still liked an answer due to time. I didn't really have much time to make a post and then wait for replies, so I left my question on a random thread. I was new to this site, and I barely knew what to post, how you make a new thread so I was forced to comment on a random thread.

God bless,

Kat

Once you get in the swing of things this is an excellent site to be involved with. It took me a couple of weeks to really understand what I was doing. Some might still say that I don't in fact. ;) Have a great experience on the threads! :D
