Sienna Stone has published almost two dozen erotica novels, all with a concentration toward female domination. Four Swinging Whips is part of her larger series the 12 Dommes of Christmas, ending strong with the short stories Ten Plugs a-Plugging, Eleven Wands a-Waving, and Twelve Girls Dirty Dancing. She explains her passion towards the women on top romance and dominance direction starting back in her school days when she “was more interested in tying up my playmates than jumping rope.”

Four Swinging Whips is about a wife who decides to take power into her own hands in the bedroom along with four different kinds of whips. The couple had recently started roleplaying slave and mistress, but for Christmas she gives him an offer he never expected. She gives him a taste of what life would be like if he accepts her offer, but is it too much or is it really his Christmas wish come true.

I love the theme of this series and the creative titles and topics the author choose to cover, which made the decision to review this book easy. The title brought a playful edge to what I clearly could contrive as a dominatrix book. I’m normally a young adult, romance reviewer with a BDSM thrown into the mix every once in a while, but this series theme caught my attention as it seems like a fun platform for the author to play with and I became interested to see the direction she took the story.

The playful chemistry between the husband and wife was my favorite part; it created a welcoming environment for all the new toys and methods being introduced. The husband showed no hesitation and a grateful amount of pleasure which had you anticipating what the wife might use next. I was impressed by the depth of the characters in the length of this short story. It provided detail on the couples past roleplaying experience, why he started liking FemDom, how she found out about his secret obsession, as well as finding plenty of time to play around in the bedroom.

I would recommend this to erotic readers only. This story contains mature content that might upset classic romance readers. If a romance reader has an interest in exploring the darker side of sex then I would recommend this as a light, fun starter into the erotica genre. I would give Four Swinging Whips four out of four stars.

This is very well-written review, but I don't think this book is for me. I'm glad you enjoyed reading it, though.
