I love Terry Pratchett and all his quotes!

I'm probably always switching favourite quotes, but currently, I really like this one:
Fairy tales are more than true – not because they tell us dragons exist, but because they tell us dragons can be beaten. (Neil Gaiman, paraphrasing G. K. Chesterton)

"I want something... I want Henry to say something, do something that proves this hasn't all been some kind of elaborate joke. I want. That's all. I am wanting" The Time Travelers Wife. I've read this book about 6 times :)

A couple of my favorites:

“You wouldn’t worry so much about what others think of you if you realized how seldom they do.”―Eleanor Roosevelt (and Dr. Phil)

And

“If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. Then quit. There’s no point in being a damn fool about it.”—W. C. Fields

Learn to do what you want, then you can do what you like
- Irish saying. I read this a long time ago but it was not attributed to any person.

Also, I enjoy a few first lines of books. The best books have a great opening line, such as the classics below...
I am old now and have not much to fear from the anger of gods
- 'Till We Have Faces, C.S. Lewis
All children, except one, grow up
- Peter Pan, J.M. Barrie
In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit
- The Hobbit, J.R.R. Tolkien

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.
~ J.R.R. Tolkien, Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

Faeries, come take me out of this dull world,
For I would ride with you upon the wind,
Run on the top of the dishevelled tide,
And dance upon the mountains like a flame.
~W.B. Yeats, The Land of Heart's Desire

My favorite is from "Go Set a Watchman" by Harper Lee is "Prejudice, a dirty word, and faith, a clean one, have something in common: they both begin where reason ends.”
Amazing. What we consider Evil and Good often have a very thin line separating them.

Dreams are hopeful because they exist as pure possibility. Unlike memories, which are fossils, long dead and buried deep.

Grief is just love with no place to go.

The bravest people are the ones who don’t mind looking like cowards.
T. H. White, The Once and Future King
Not all those who wander are lost.
J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring
She who saves a single soul, saves the universe.
Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

I love quotes very much. I like collecting them and writing them down everywhere. I simple line can bring back so many memories from a book, or a song, or a moment.
