I get sick when reading in a moving car. I feel dizzy and want to vomit. I've noticed when I exercise a lot the vomitting pass and I don't feel the nauseating sensations. But I am not the type of person to practice a sport or exercise. And the sickness return again. I've just stopped reading in cars and buses.

I also get sick when reading in the car or bus. But luckily not on a plane or train. I hope there is a remedy or I will have to resort to audiobooks or just listening to music.

Hi, I can't even think of reading in a car. I can't even use my phone while in motion. I am fine riding in a car but as soon as I look at something that is in my face, I get dizzy and a headache.

I can read in the car, but after a while I feel sick. It helps to look around, close my eyes and drink something carbonated (ginger ale is good). You could also try the non-drowsy Dramamine tablets. That's the only thing that helps me at a theme park!

I cannot read in a car because I get motion sickness as well. I read somewhere that it has to do with the speed of your surroundings i your peripheral vision while you're focusing on something not moving. I would love to be able to read in the car but it is just not possible for me. Maybe if I got some anti nausea candies like they make for pregnant women with morning sickness it may help but I am not sure. No advice here... sorry!

Yes and I always have as long as I can remember. It is somewhat better if I look only at the book or ereader and never look up. But as soon as I look at anything except the book it is terrible.

I always get sick when I read, color, text.... really anything except sleep or look out the front window. I have considered motion sickness pills but they make me sleepy so I wouldn't get to read anyway. I think audio books are a great idea maddy2690 ?

Oh yeah, don't you just hate it? I would usually waste hours of time trying not to get sick in the car while wishing that I can grab my book and read it all the way to my destination. I am so jealous of people who can, like seriously you guys are so lucky. Trust me, I might even resort to taking some meds if I can to get rid of the feeling. It is just awful, gives me chills and headache. Once the car stop moving, I would just be good again in no time. Story of my life. I might try and chew gum next time. Thanks for the advise.

I have noticed that when I start to get nauseous, if I will look up and slowly tilt my head from left to right continuously, the nausea will subside.

I get nauseous when reading in a car too and haven't been able to overcome it so I don't have any solutions for you. Sorry! Surprisingly though I am able to read on the train and subway which is what I use to commute everyday so I still get to read. Have you tried taking something with ginger in it? I've heard that's supposed to help soothe your stomach.

Hope you find a remedy!

I feel this way as well, I don't even attempt reading in the car anymore. Same goes for looking at my phone, if it's more than shooting off a quick text, I'm nauseous. :(

Try audiobooks? I get motion sickness too.

I have come to the conclusion that I can´t read in anything that moves! I always get motion sick! Sometimes I even throw up.
