The Maze Runner although it's not 100% like the story. You have to understand that the director can't make a replica of the book. I love The Maze Runner because it was pretty darn close and they had an amazing cast.

I really enjoyed seeing the Hobbit movie adaptations. I know they changed some things and left out a few things and some people really didn't like the 2nd part. But to see this complicated and amazing story unfurl on a screen was an incredible experience. My family listened to The Hobbit on audio on a family road-trip to Tennessee when I was about 10 and I couldn't quite imagine/picture Smegal's scene in the mountain or the dragon in the castle. I can't wait to go see the last part that is out in theaters now.

Another movie adaptation I really like is Marry Poppins, but that is nothing like it's book counterpart.... they changed that one completely. But I think the movie is better, which I don't say very often. 9 times out of 10 the book is better, but not in the case of Marry Poppins.

I don't usually watch movie adaptations because I always want to read the book first. I don't have any solid reason behind it, it's just my belief that it's the way it should be done. A lot of times I don't get to read the book before the movie comes out. By the time it hits DVD or whatever I've lost interest. That being said, I did read Gone Girl and then watch the movie. Wow! It was SPOT ON! I was so curious how "they" (writers, actors, director, etc.) could pull it off, but it was AMAZINGLY accurate.

I agree.
But I didn't like The Scorch Trials, it was far too different from the book.

I loved the movie adaptation of Eat, Pray, Love. One of my favourite books and now one of my go to feel-good movies.

The Help and Pride and Prejudice are my favorites! They are ones of the very few adaptations that didn't disappoint me. I mostly liked them because not many things were changed; even the few changes that were made didn't affect the movies negatively, on the contrary, they would've made the books even better! :)

I think it is safe to say that this is my standard answer for most questions in life - "the Stand" by Stephen King!

I generally do not like book-to-movie adaptation. I find that the movies do not resonate with me all well as the books do. but if I have to choose I'll go with Matilda by Roald Dahl and My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult

I LOVED the adaptation of The Color Purple. I'm a big fan of Alice Walker, and the movie did her book justice

Obligatory Fight Club, LOTR, Harry Potter and Jurassic park thrown out here. However. I also really loved Perks of Being A Wallflower (I cried at this movie so hard), Room and the Divergent series/Hunger games. Something about having read them and then watching my visions come to life is super exciting and brings another level to reading.

Howl's Moving Castle by Studio Ghibli. I saw the movie first, fell head over heels, and then found out that it was actually inspired by a book written by Diana Wynne Jones. They're pretty different, but both are completely inspiring and magical.

Studio Ghibli anything is fantastic! I love all of their films! I never could get into Outlander the book and the show seems like it's trying to compete, shock value wise, with GoT.

But a book to television adaptation I will never, ever be able to get over is from Hamlet to Sons of Anarchy. The true to literature respect Kurt Sutter had for Shakespeare was amazing. I hadn't read Hamlet since I was in middle school but since Sons I have re-read it twice. It is definitely something that stays with you long after it's over.

My favorite book to movie adaptation was the entire Hunger games series! I loved all of the books and it was awesome to finally be able to see each movie as they came out. :D
