His Angel, written by Samantha Cole, is the second novel in the Trident Security series. This novel can be classified as an erotica BDSM novel, but it also contains some suspenseful action thrown in with it.
Angelina “Angie” Beckett is a feisty, independent woman who has experienced only disappointment in her previous relationships. She has always wanted more and feels that she will never find it. She then meets her neighbor’s boss Ian, whom agrees to introduce her into a world that she had only read about. She also happens to design the naughty book covers for the said books. Ian is an ex- Navy SEAL whom has had his heart broken once, and refuses to let it ever happen again. He lives the Dominant lifestyle, always controlling what happens in his relationships, never letting it go further then he plans ahead of time. He agrees to watch over Angie for her friend but becomes enthralled with the sassy blonde and agrees to introduce her to the BDSM lifestyle, and the wild side Angie never knew she had.
I really enjoyed this story line and I found it very relatable. The author did a great job creating each of the characters back stories, building them up to where they are now. The story is very easy to follow and the action keeps you hanging on every word. While each character has their own life story, both of the main characters have common denominators that help them come together as an appealing tag team duo in this story.
I didn’t find anything negative about this book. I loved it from beginning to end and felt that the author took their time in making the storyline and the characters great. The attention to detail is great as well. In regards to the setting and characters, the details provide enough information to make you feel as if you are part of the story. The supporting characters are also very detailed and you can easily follow along with them as well.
I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. The book sticks to its BDSM erotica genre but gives you a bit more with the included action. The author gives you the best of both worlds instead of just one. I recommend this book to anyone wanting a good action packed romance but do be warned, the romance is steamy. I also recommend reading the first book for a little extra information on the back story and some of the other supporting characters. I very much look forward to continuing with this series.
