Malediction by JD Lexx - Review Included
Have you ever read a book that completely changed everything you thought you new about books and reading?? That was this book for me! I have been trying to spread the word about this book and this author for the last few weeks as he has taken erotica and flipped it upside down for me. I find erotica to be watered down lately and it doesn't usually make me think or use my brain. This book is not that! It is very smartly written, allowed me to use my brain and gave me erotica in a way I have never experienced it. I just wanted to share with fellow books lovers. I love getting recommendations for new reads and thought this was a good way to share my absolute love for this book. Below is my five star review that is on Amazon!

A few weeks ago I was a brand new reader to JD Lexx and now he has a reader in me for as long as he keeps writing. Malediction is the story of JD Lexx and his journey on the pursuit of the elusive and once forbidden Valeria. Throughout this book you will be taken on an expedition of sensuality, sexual awakening, and seduction. You will travel to different parts of the world and get lost in the tales of pursuit, struggle, missed opportunity, and overall self-discovery. Will Mr. Lexx find his happily ever after and achieve his greatest desire, or will his efforts prove to be futile?
What I Loved
EVERYTHING!
Let me start by prefacing this review with saying that I read a lot! I get lost in many books and have fallen in love with many authors and styles of writing. That being said, what I just read with Malediction was a step above so much of what I have read in the past. That’s not to take away from other books or other authors, but rather speaks to the creative mind and genius of JD Lexx. This man can write his butt off. He tells a story in a way that is hard for me to even articulate. I was at a loss for words and putting coherent sentences together when I began trying to write this review. Anyone who knows me knows me and a loss of words are not things that normally go together. When reading, I am usually all about falling in love with the characters first and foremost and the story secondly. With this book I fell in love with the journey and the story and the characters after.
The descriptive nature in which JD writes is enough to make this book amazing. I felt like I was traveling along on the journey and was able to visit places and spots I have never been. The way the story is written, you have to open up your mind, and use your brain and imagination. I love that! He paints a vivid image in your head and you have no choice but to sit back and enjoy the ride.
Who doesn’t love great sex when reading erotica? I do for sure. This was another area where I feel JD excels in his writing. The erotic scenes are smoking hot, but not in your face so to speak. I have said this in another review of one his books and it holds true still. JD is a creative wordsmith, subtle in his delivery, but doing so in a way that is otherworldly. It’s erotic, but sensual at the same time.
What I Didn’t Love
The only thing I didn’t love was when it was over. But alas, there is more to come and thank God for that!
I will be anxiously awaiting the next installment of this story and more delicious crimson confessions. If I could give this book more than five stars I certainly would, but I can’t. I happily give this book 5 deserving stars and would recommend it to everyone!
