This is included in my 2016 bucketlist, to be able to try performing once - no matter how small the audience will be.

I've never even heard of any events in my area but I do watch a lot of performances on YouTube, especially form Button Poetry. My absolute favourite is OCD by Neil Hilborn and while I don't have OCD myself, I identify a lot with so many parts of it and it is written and performed really well, I would really recommend you watch it!

I've heard spoken word poetry multiple times and think that it's enjoyable. It's an amazing thing that some artists can make their poetry truly resonate with someone while simply reading it out loud.
