What would you do if you had an encounter like this?

I would definitely be creeped out.. It's certainly not everyday that you see a ghost! Maybe I'll try to make a new friend. Or I'll just find a place to hide and pray that the ghost doesn't find me.

I would probably pray a lot at first hoping it would go away. If the ghost or spirit doesn't go away, then I would try to get a priest to bless the house. If all else fails, and I can't find a suitable solution, I would move.

I lived in a house that I'm pretty sure was haunted for just under two years. At first I was freaked out, but I eventually got used to it. It wasn't always fun, but no one was hurt. It was just really, really creepy!

Our house has some spirits moving around in it. My husband sees them and I hear them sometimes. He tells me that it's my fault that they're there. Haha. It sounds so interesting to read this thread! I have never had an encounter with a ghost but love hearing about these experiences. Honestly, I have no idea what I would do. I assume it would be very different from meeting a person so it's difficult to predict my reaction. I would like to think that I would be open to it and figure how to somehow learn from the experience.

Wow!!! Well, I'm glad that you're husband doesn't deny their existence! It took an exploding candle to make mine admit that we had an extra resident!

I didn't believe that ghost are exist and if I encounter with a ghost I would not believe on it and I would think that someone is scaring me. It would be a dream or a horror film.

If the ghosts were like the ones in the book, I'd definitely seek help. I've seen (and felt the presence) of some ghosts but they weren't as violent and evil as the ones in the story. If they're just staring and doing nothing to scare me, I'll be fine, though.

Considering that it would completely upend my current worldview, I would want to have rather in-depth discussions about the nature of life and after-life with it, if it allows that to happen that is.

It's always so hard to say what you would do in a situation if you've never been in it. I like to think that I would be ok with it if I encountered a friendly presence, but I can almost guarantee I would run away at first regardless.
