Do You Believe in Ghosts?

Post by lizzy3614 »

Yes, I do believe in ghost. Human spirts have to go somewhere after the body is no longer a place so I'm sure on some level or another there are ghost around us. It's still,of course, a personal opinion, because there is no scientific evidence behind it. but I do believe in ghost.

I do believe in ghosts. At one time, my brother was hospitalized with a high fever of unknown origin. The doctors were all baffled and explained to my mother that the fever was not responding to any medication and if it continued, my brother would die. The next morning his fever was gone and he told my mother that our grandmother who had passed away a few years before had come to see him during the night. He said she laid her hand on his forehead and said, "you will be fine". The doctors had no explanation as to how our why his fever subsided.

Yes. I have heard voices, seen doors open and close and have heard footsteps on my stairs. A set of car keys was lost for six months or more suddenly appeared by my bed. I even saw my mother after she died. One so-called "ghost" was my husband's dead wife. She may have come back reincarnated as her own great grand daughter who told me one time,as I listened in stunned silence, that when her grandmother was a baby she had rocked her in a rocking chair and I carried her in my stomach.

I do believe in ghosts. But, I don't believe they are singularly caused. I believe some ghosts (particularly the poltergeists) are demonic in origin. I believe the replaying over and over again of some event linked with strong emotion is sort of an image captured in that time and space, so that it is not an entity that you would connect with and have a conversation with, but rather a phenomenon caused by strong emotions. I believe it is possible for some entities to be created by some very strong sexual trauma (such as the Bell Witch), where somehow the spirit splits, or does something to protect the victim - I believe this happens most often during pubescence. There are probably other explanations as well, but regardless, there is an unseen world all around us.

If you don't believe, did this affect your enjoyment of the book?
Absolutely I believe in ghosts. I have had many personal experiences with the paranormal since I was young and have heard them and have seen them fleetingly. Whether or not ghosts are good or evil depend on the person who produced the ghost in the first place. There is good and evil in all of us, and ghosts are, usually, humans who have unfinished business in their last life, or taken so horrifically that they may not be aware they have passed. Or they were so mean and bad, and believed they were destined for 'hell' when they passed...they may get stuck or lost along the way home. Ghosts can affect corporeal reality by haunting or attaching to a living person. There are also 'residual hauntings' of a location; this is usually an imprint of an event, replaying like a stuck video. The event can be traumatic and explain the ghost's death. The affect can be negative if the spirit is 'evil' or the affect can be positive if the spirit is good. The affect will also depend on the person's reality, if they believe in ghosts or not. There are too many variables to give a straight answer to the question!

No, I don't believe in ghosts. As a Christian, I believe a person's soul does not stay on this Earth, but goes to either Heaven or Hell. I do believe in demonic spirits, but they are not ghosts. Sometimes, people who commit atrocious acts will say that they don't know what happened, like something came over them. I think it may be demonic possession. I was watching a true crimes show about a serial killer who was a cannibal. I really can't explain that kind of behavior without attributing it to some sort of demonic presence. This is different from mental illness.

I believe in spirits and that there is an afterlife that individuals can sometimes get stuck between there and our world. I have several family members that are very spiritual, not in a religious way, and are frequented by passed members. Whether or not they are 100% being honest all of the time is up for discussion, but I think if you believe you believe and no one can change your mind either way.

I believe in ghosts, when I was around a teenager I lived in this a very disturbed house. I only had one creepy experience there, I had just come home from school and I was with my best friend. We were just lounging around and we had some low music on. While this was happening I heard little kids yell "Mommy!" At the time I thought oh, it's just some kids right across the street from my house and then I remembered that I just got off school, and elementary school gets off at a later time that I do. But my best friend didn't hear it and I wasn't about to go and explain to her about what I heard so it didn't freak us both out. I have a lot more experiences that everyone I lived with had, and maybe I'll get into that later. But yes I do believe in ghosts some are evil and some are good, and some don't like to be messed with and I think some love to mess with people.

I do believe in ghosts and spirits. I also love a good, spine-tingling ghost story!

Honestly, I don't really know if I do or don't. A part of me doesn't believe that they exist, while another part is terrified. I spook myself out just thinking about something like that. Take now for instance; I'm downstairs alone, and peeping over my shoulder.

I wouldn't necessarily say that I believe in ghosts, per say, but I do believe that there are things we cannot see that are constantly around us. Whether there are spirits or invisible monsters or even ghosts, I have no idea, and I doubt that any one truly does know if they exist. So in conclusion, I guess you could so that I believe in them, even though there may be different things out there.

I think that the universe is so vast and infinite that it seems silly to merely say yes or no.
