Awesome review! Thanks to you, I am very excited about this book. It sounds right up my alley. I love fantasy of all kinds and to have this author jump right up there with the likes of Cassandra Claire and the like is a great seller indeed. High praise as far as I'm concerned. I can't wait to read this book. Thank you for sharing. :)

Oooh I love epic fantasy. Urban fantasy can be a hit or miss for me so I'm glad you explained that it's so much more than that. Your review definitely makes me want to buy the book!

Great review. You had me at 'complex and multi-faceted'. Sounds like my kind of urban fantasy read.

A book about a Chicago teen who learns of his Celtic ancestry and powers sounds great! I love fantasy, especially one that has little magic and mysticism in it, and this sounds like a good tale. It is great that both the world-building and character development are done so well, and that there are no useless plot elements. I have the book and will start it this week. Good job on the review!

I am not much of a fan of Fantasy but you caught me at Celtic and Wisconsin. Celtic because I am obsessed with anything Celtic. Wisconsin, well because I live here...lol.

Thank you for sharing an indepth and honest review!

Thanks for the review. I think it sounds great the way you described the author compared to other Urban Fantasy authors. Also, the fact that you enjoyed the real history mixed with cross-cultural legends. It sounds as if the book is a perfect beginning for the series and a new author both!
