Plane food gets a bad rap, like hospital food, but has anyone found plane food nice?

Airline food ... forget it IMO. I just go for those little packets of biscuits or crackers & I'd take a chance on their tea or coffee but that would be it. I dare say on long haul they make a better effort.

Take it from me, Fran, they don't. (Oh, and I just bought 6 lady finger bananas AU$10.45)Fran wrote:I dare say on long hauls they make a better effort.
Apart from the usual plastic food, I have been offered a sealed sandwich which had mould in it. Also, the flying time from Australia to UK is approx 22 hours and during this time flight attendants ply you with so much food you feel like a suckling pig. Certain airlines even wake you up to serve you more food!
Travellers tip: Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

I agree with the constant food comment, i had two snacks, free soft drinks and a big dinner on a 9 hour flight so that did me for the day. Short haul tends to be less quality but not in all cases-i find Aer Arann to be quite good with sandwiches and also Aer Lingus gives a nice fry-up on morning flights for just 9euro!Maud Fitch wrote:Take it from me, Fran, they don't.
