I truly loved this trilogy (and I look forward to reading The Fever Code!) It had such a good mysterious synopsis that when I first saw it, I HAD to read it. The characters had depth and felt real, especially the Gladers. Newt was my favorite character and I enjoyed the variety of personalities in the books. James Dashner is such a fantastic author with outstanding world building skills. I recommend to anyone and everyone!

I was disappointed by this series. I felt the problem could have been dealt with much better by taking all of these smart kids and putting them in a lab. The maze and trials were completely unnecessary.

I liked all the books in this Series. I like the fact that it takes the reading of the entire series to fully understand what is going on. I am a big fan of movies keeping to the books as closely as possible so I was fairly disappointed in the movie version. I think that reading the book first is a better bet before seeing the movie. I can totally see the Lord of the Flies influence and love the fact that there are two sides to the story. Thomas definitely is not one to go along with the crowd so seeing him think for himself is great.

I agree the movie was a major let down. When you read the books you are sucked into Thomas' world. You understand how the world works but you are lost to what is happening. These boys live a pure nightmare. There is never a dull moment in the whole series. As a reader that is completely absorbed by a good story I felt my emotions running high through the entire series. You can't read just one you have to read them all. There is a shocking twist and turn on every page. All the way to the last page of the last book. Have told everyone I know about the series way before the movie was announced. Great read for and adventure Sci-fi person

Thank you for the review!

I also thoroughly enjoyed The Maze Runner. I found the names of Dashner's characters (after famous scientists) to be very clever and was very excited to read the rest of the series after finishing it. I was a bit disappointed when after the third book I still had questions to be answered, though– and I wasn't too happy with the ending. But I haven't read the prequel, so maybe that will be more informative!

I couldn't get past the first few pages of the maze runner. I never thought I would outgrow certain types of YA fiction, but I find myself gravitating to books with grown protagonists these days.

I thought it was a pretty good book. It wasn't my favorite story ever, but it wasn't the worst either. I haven't read any of the other books in the series so I can't comment on those. I watch part of the movie, but missed the first probably 35 to 40 minutes of it. So I need to go back to watch the whole thing. Thomas was my favorite of the characters. Teresa I am not sure if I trust her or not. Something is definitely off with her, at least that's the vibe i am receiving from her. I would give the book 3 out of 5 stars.

I always have a hard time when I've read the book then watched the movie. They always mess it up. My mind makes a much better movie!

I'm a book person. I know that not everyone is, that some are movie people, but no matter who they are, when it comes to Maze Runner I tell everyone that they need to read the book first. I promise this isn't a spoiler (you find it out within the first few pages of the book), the main character doesn't have his memory. What makes the books so much better than the movie is that in the movie, everything is told to you from the beginning while in the book you know nothing. It's as though you are in the main characters shoes. It makes you not want to put the book down. You have to keep reading. You have to know who you are, where you came from, who you used to be, why you are here-everything. The book is written well and keeps you in the dark in a good way.

I enjoyed this book very much! I'm with you on that I usually have to have a love story to keep me compelled to read but it was great! I was not a huge fan of the second book since it was just flash security after false security but the first book was intriguing. Awesome review!

I've always been curious about this book, but the brief summary that the book had wasn't enough to get me to read it. But from what I've read hear, I feel like I may actually enjoy this book.

I loved this book when I read it, but when the third book came around it seemed to be the exact same as the other two. Maybe it was just me, though.

I usually dont read Sci-Fi books. Its just not my genrr but I really enjoyed these books. It was a breathe of fresh air from the usual end of thr world stories. And I loved how the focus was on friendships instead of romance.
