Hubert Selby

I love most of Irvine Welsh's books and someone suggested I read Hubert Selby. Problem is I don't where to start. I'm thinking either Last Exit to Brooklyn or Requiem for a Dream. Which is better? Or does anyone have any other recommendations? I want to start off this author on a good foot.
