I've read some vampire stories on and off in the past few years. Twilight piqued my interest when I was a teenager (it had just been released and several of my friends recommended it), but it had so many plot holes that I felt cheated. I recently completed Bram Stoker's Dracula and found it incredibly well put together and ahead of its time due to the fact that Stoker delved into the historic lore of vampires. To me, the ancient lore is deeply intriguing on its own. Vampire stories usually utilize themes of human modernity, so they interest me greatly.

I read the Twilight series when I was in around middle school. I absolutely loved them. Although, I was a young girl, teenager in the making, complete with emotional boy drama and fell into those storylines so easily. Because of some pressure in my "religious community" I moved away from vampires. I have not returned to them as of yet but I am curious to see other varieties of vampire stories as Twilight is the only exposure I have. I could see how it may get repetitive very easily.

I would highly recommend the black dagger brother series by J. R. Ward it has a great story line and a lot of romance.

I love vampire stories, but depending on the story can get old. There are many different vampire series, and after so long they all start the same. Twilight was a good length. I'm sure there are many new ways vampires could be reinvented in new and exciting stories.

Vampire stories can quickly become old and redundant when there is nothing creative about them. Authors need to introduce something unexpected in order to give readers a fresh perspective on the world of vampires. Certain things--their immortality and insatiable need for blood, for example--are important themes that are necessary to appear in every vampire story, because they are what make vampires vampires. But other things can be tweaked or added, so readers aren't just encountering the same old, tired story.

My true love of the vampire story came from Anne Rice. I borrowed The Vampire Lestat from a friend and was instantly hooked. The life and uniqueness she gives to each character is breathtaking. Even though Anne's vampires are cold and murderous, the reader is able to connect to the characters emotionally. This is because Anne gave each of the vampires an individual personality and conscience or lack thereof depending on the character.

I love vampire novels, will never tire of this genre. There is always a new way to bring a twist to a very old and wondering issue. They bring such mystery, romance and unsure tales to life. Only a good vampire novel can entrance my mind to keep me up all night.

I have always loved anything to do with vampires so this topic is amazing to me. Where can you go wrong with it? As long as said vampire doesn't sparkle.

I am sure there are new ways to illustrate vampires. I tend to find that I am more intrigued and interested in the vampire stories that portray the darker side that feels a bit more realistic and closer to their nature.

Vampire books are my top favorite genre of books to read. I have read so many series of vampire related books. Anne Rice started my love for them. Since I have read or at least obtained every vampire book I come across. I say at least obtained because my tbr shelf is years long. I am a collector/hoarder of books. I am currently reading A Vampire Blood Courtesans series. The first book reborn by Michelle fox was amazing. The second book was good I have the third to read today. Each book in the series is written by a different author. Very neat concept, a seies with each book that can be a stand alone book but all following the same story line. Ok , sorry I got a bit off topic.

Vampire books in my opinion are sexy and mysterious and by far the most interesting enjoyable kind of books for me to read. Eighty five percent of vampire books I read are in a series. Mainly because one book is not enough of the store for me. I've compiled a list of some of my favorite vampire series sets. All listed are series not single reads.

Twilight, Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series, The Vampire Chronicles, Vampire Diaries,Vampire Academy, A Shade of a Vampire, Sputhern Vamire series know better as the Sukki Stackhouse series, House of Night, the Morganville Vampires, House of Night, Immortals After Dark, Blue Bloods;
Argeneau/Rogue Hunter series, and as stated above the Vampire Blood Courtesans series... I've got many more, but of the top of my head that's what stick out to me.

I have never been a big fan of vampire books. They are typically geared toward young adult fans or fit within the romance genre. When I was in middle school, I was interested in the Twilight series, but by the second book I was no longer engaged. I tried many other vampire stand alone novels as well as a few series, but they all blended together. I have not given up on the concept however, because the idea of "the vampire" is something I feel is worthy of writing about. If I could find an adult book focused on the powers and existence of the creatures, I would definitely give it a shot. In short, I would appreciate a book in which an immortal character did not go to high school thousands of times only to find their dream lover, but instead had a depth about them given their unique existence.

You should read Anne Rice novels then. They are adult vampire reads. The Vamire lastat interview with a vampire queen of the damned so very many that are mature reads.
