When are they given out?

I would like to know when the BOTD giveaways are given to the winners. Since I started participating, I've won once where I received the amazon gift card the day after. But the other time, I did not receive it so I had to message Scott.

I'm wondering if there is a set time I should wait before sending a message. Do you guys get it on the next day or a few days after?

Usually one should get it on the same day or the day after.

Oh, because I was one of the winners on February 3rd but I haven't received anything. I have messaged Scott, but I haven't gotten a reply yet.
For future reference, are we always supposed to send a message or should the amazon card just come automatically?

It should come automatically. You only have to send a message if you don't get it in a day or two.
