Regency Romance: Winning The Indecisive Duke (The Fairbanks

Regency Romance: Winning The Indecisive Duke (The Fairbanks Series - Love & Hearts) (Historical Romance Fiction) By Jessie Bennett

STORY-LINE WINNING THE INDECISIVE DUKE BY JESSIE BENNETT:

Winning The Indecisive Duke, by author Jessie Bennett, a character driven story of family dynamics, love, and romance, will hold your attention; providing hours of entertainment. Jonah Boothe and Elizabeth Huntington engaged from the cradle, cemented families, lands, and friendship. Both have been the best of friends their entire life. So close, they are almost brother and sister; each feels they can not marry. Their love is a love of siblings not romantic love of the heart.

Add in a twisted sister, Alexandra, rejected by the man she was to wed, a new arrival in the area, Daniel Forsley Duke of Athlone, and you have all the ingredients for a first-rate regency romance. With two sisters vying for the Dukes regard, old jealousies, insecurities, and hatred will rise; the Duke's indecision in choosing his bride, plays one against the other. Both sisters beautiful and poised, come from a good family; making it hard for him to choose between them.

Who will win the Dukes hand in marriage? Will Elizabeth and Jonah break the family contract to find their true loves? Will Elizabeth's sister, Alexandra, ruin any chance Elizabeth has to find happiness? My reviews for romance novel, Winning The Indecisive Duke, follows.

CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT:

Foremost, a regency romance, Bennett included suspense in her latest book. The story-line is an intense drama between two sisters trying to win the same man. One sister's depicted as sweet and caring; the other's far different. When the Duke sets in motion the sister's competition for his hand, Alexandra fierce hatred and jealousy for Elizabeth takes over. As a result, Alexandra will do whatever it takes to win. Does that include murder? Will Jonah and Elizabeth break their contract with the two family's approval? Is there a happy ever after for any of them? Sorry, you will have to read the book to find out.

Containing twists and turns, drama, and family dynamics, I could not put my e Reader down. I actually wanted to shake Alexandra and lock her in her room. However, Bennett had other ideas. As the story progressed, Alexandra became less and less stable; she was a scary character as she was conniving, underhanded, and filled with hatred and jealousy. Furthermore, Bennett developed her characters throughout the story; her writing was clear and easy to follow. Bennett had no need of sex or fluff in her story, as her plotting and characters alone, carried the story-line.

Finally, in concluding my reviews for romance novel, Winning the Indecisive Duke, I found an entertaining easy to read regency romance. With smooth steady pacing, well-developed characters, and a refreshing story-line, I enjoyed my time spent with these characters.

WINNING THE INDECISIVE DUKE: RECOMMENDATION: STARS 4
In addition, I would hesitate to buy this book for my self or a friend.

I love regency romances so I'll have to take a look at this one! It sounds fun, although I will say that I don't like the idea of the Duke encouraging the sisters to compete. Is he a likeable character?

yes, he was nice. In the ton, females competed for his attention all the time as they did with all the wealthy titled young gentlemen in these books, so this was the way he thought, I don't think it will be a spoiler to say he regretted bringing them into competition before the book ended.

Okay, that was the only thing I was worried about! I'm not interested in any romances where I don't like half of the couple. I'll be adding this to my to-read list. Thanks for the review!
