His Bachelor’s Party by Ronald Reginald King is a romance story that gives a new spin on love. What would you do if you found out the man you still love is getting married? Would you go on with your life or would you concoct a plan to steal him back? This story gives you all the answers and more as it tells the story of Myster Mychael D’Lanor Dunbar and the several women that love him.

Faye Masters, Essence Washington, Vonda Sutton, April Rains, and Alexandria Bridges come together to try and win back their one true love, Myster. Even though there are five women, they are willing to share to have Mr. Dunbar back in their lives. The journey they take to create and execute this plan will make you laugh, cry, and realize what you could be willing to do for love. Will their plan work in their favor or will he decide to go back to his fiancé?

Myster can be described as a sophisticated, cultured, and thoughtful man that knows the ways around a woman’s heart. He considers himself a one woman player that can make you feel like you are the only woman in the world. While helping his neighbor escape an abusive relationship, he finds his soul mate, Tiffani, and knows that she is the one. They are planning to get married, but what happens when the past comes back and offers a deal that he may not be able to refuse?

I enjoyed reading this book because it is not your typical love story. When I finished this book, I thought who in their right mind would go to the extremes that these women did, to win this man back? Then I thought about it and realized that love could make you do the unbelievable. Not only does this book capture the love these women have for this man, but it shows how that love brings them together to form a sisterhood. The journey they go through to come up with a plan shows how close they came together and the friendships that developed. Also, the author has Myster as an advocate for Domestic Abuser’s Mentality Negated Eradicated Definitively (DAMNED) which is an organization that helps individuals get out of abusive relationships. I liked how this was added into the story because this is a big problem in the world today, and the information the author has in the book hits the nail on the head.

I felt the description of the book was misleading because I thought this was going to be in Myster’s point of view but was surprised when it started out with the different women and their journey on trying to get him back. In some of the scenes, I got confused as to who was speaking because there were so many characters talking at one time. The confusion made me have to re-read a couple of scenes, but I was able to understand everything that was going on.

I rate His Bachelor’s Party a 3 out of 4 stars. I would have rated this a 4 star book if it were not for the grammatical errors and what I mentioned above. The story the author created is perfect for someone that likes a unique romance story with a sisterhood that will take you on their journey towards a common goal. This book does end on a cliffhanger, but the story will continue in the sequel Dave.

I like the fact that you said that it is not a typical love story. I'm always interested in fresh and new ideas. I like the fact that it is told from a woman's point of view but I agree that it is a little misleading because I would've thought the main protagonist would be a male.

Great Review! ?

Thank you Amagine. It is actually told by multiple point of views so sometimes it could get a little confusing, but you don't get to meet Myster until half way through the book.

"What would you do if you found out the man you still love is getting married?" I will advise anyone who finds him/herself in such a situation to move on. But, in this case, the author has used the situation to craft a unique love-story book, which does not look like your run-of-the-mill romance story. The review gives a good peak into the book, and makes interesting reading. Thanks.

Great review. I hate when the book description is deceptive. It's like - hey, I didn't sign up for this. Glad you liked it though.

sounds refreshing. i thought the book would be about men from the title hence it goes without saying, never judge a book by its cover....or rather in this case, by its title :P
