For me the book is always better than the movie. Even with CGI the movies can not come close to the author's intentions and also to the reader's imagination. Books win hands down. With movies all it takes for you to finish it is 2-3 hours tops. But with books you stay up late until 2Am just to read the book. And you haven't finished it yet. Some times it takes two to three sittings. LoL!!

When I was a busy working girl, I preferred films as you finish them in two hours on the average. Now that I am mostly home caring for my folks, I rarely see movies. Reading gives me the freedom to imagine an enchanting scene, repeat memorable quotes and simply relish the power of words.

I prefer books over movies because movies are usually a limited version of a vast horizon of a book. Most of the time movies fail to cover all the aspects of a book.

There are so many movie-book combo that i have read and watched, and any other way, i appreciate their differences. Like in the twilight saga, the movie gave out such a wild imagination that was a so awesome.

As I believe most people do, I feel that a book is always better than a movie. You can do so much more in your own imagination than any producer/writer/director could do in an hour or two. The way I judge if a movie has done a book justice is if I get a feeling of deja vu while watching as if I've already seen the movie.

Twilight: Although the books were cliche the movie dialouge and acting was horrible. Bella in the movie had no personality. She was still dumb in the books but at least she had some life.

Harry Potter books were much better than the movies. Lord of the rings movies were much better compared to the books.
