It's great that you do not keep secrets from your husband. I think relationships need to be build on trust. I think my parents underreact to large events and surprises because they often overreact to simple things.

I think relationships MUST be built on trust. Relationships built on lies will not last in my opinion. So I would definitely tell my husband. I don't think I'd tell anyone else, though.

I agree. There wouldn't be a second of hesitation of telling my husband. He and I share everything, but I wouldn't share it with anyone else.

For Alex, it might have been more difficult because he and his girlfriend were just starting out. However, once they traveled together (to his island), went to bed with each other, and she kept asking him, perhaps it was time to share his secret. Either that, or don't continue the relationship. Eva seems like an open person and one who is very kind, so I can't imagine her exploiting Alex's ability, even if they discontinued their relationship.

I'd keep it to myself because once the secret is out, there's no way of knowing whose ears it might reach. The last thing I'd want after discovering my super cool power is ending up exploited or tested.

You make a very valid point. A secret isn't a secret if more than one is in on it.

Yes I would tell those closest to me whom I trust. Something like this would be so life changing that I don't think you could hide it successfully. Also, I would be looking for emotional support on how to navigate such a huge change.

In Superhighway, Alex has to struggle between telling his girlfriend that he has a superpower or keeping her in the dark. If you woke up with an awesome superpower that you could keep secret, would you tell your love ones? Why or why not?

I think that this is a reason that Alex needs a girlfriend who also has superpowers. It is the only way he can truly be understood. Eva was not going to make it long term for this reason.

I wouldn't tell anyone, even if I completely trusted them unless I absolutely needed to. Sharing that information especially about superpowers makes them a target as well for people who would like to capture and experiment on me. Or maybe I've just read too many grim fantasy books

I think, living where I live, I wouldn't dare to tell anyone about my superpowers - if I ever had one! People tend to get judgemental sometimes. And my parents would definitely freakout!

Oooh what an exciting question. I guess it would all depends on what the power.. for example, if I could suddenly fly or do something really cool, I would probably have a hard time keeping it a secret. Whereas if it was something a little weirder, like everything I touched turned to slime then I would try keep it quiet (although with that example, that could be hard). I would definitely tell my partner regardless, a secret shared is a secret halved and all that. I would like to think I would be able to keep it from other people, but in reality I would probably end up telling my friends and parents too.
