This will definitely be a good story with a lot if suspense. The protagonist has to battle between self acceptance and her need to discover who she is. Her courage to defy expectations and inhibitions will define her and provide a build up that will definitely be captivating

I agree with the author of the review, too much romance spoils the plot. But from the same review, I could tell that there's high probability Courtney has mental issues. After sampling the few pages in the book, which were interesting and so thrilling by the way, I feel the review is kind of a spoiler because I now have a feeling in my gut that the aliens were a result of Courtney's imagination, nowhere near real. Anyway, I really hope I'm wrong on this one.

Fifteen-year-old Courtney wants to be normal like her friends. But there’s something frighteningly different about her—and it’s not just the mysterious tattoo her conspiracy-obsessed grandfather marked her with when she was a child. The last thing Courtney wants to do is end up crazy and dead like her grandfather—but what about the tattoo? And the alien scouts who visit Courtney in her bedroom at night, claiming to have shared an alliance with her grandfather?

With her new friend Agatha’s apocalyptic visions, Courtney begins connecting the dots between the past, present, and future—of her bloodline, and the ancient history that surrounds it. So is she going mentally insane, like her family claimed her grandfather did, or is she actually a “chosen one” with ancestral connections to another world? Either way, Courtney has a mission: untangle her past, discover the truth, and stop the apocalypse before anyone from school finds out she’s missing.Fifteen-year-old Courtney wants to be normal like her friends. At first I was skeptical about reading the preview for this book because I'm just not really a fan of science fiction kind of books but as I was reading the preview, I got more and more intrigued as every chapter goes by. I'm very curious about Astra and her relevance in the story. Is she truly just a mere imagination or a real person? will she be the one who will give the answers to Courtney's questions? I also want to find out the general mystery in the story which are the aliens and Courtney's grandfather's secret. If I'm going to rate the preview of this story, I would give it a 4 out of 4 because it made me curious to make me read more.

Great review! I think that I will enjoy reading the book.

I also completely agree with the reviewer that so many stories have unnecessary romance thrown into the mix. It would certainly be too much in a book with this sort of story line.

Congratulations to the author! I look forward to reading the book.

It sounds…confusing to say the least but I will admit I think the concept itself is interesting. I haven’t really read many books about aliens so far, they don’t seem to be very big in YA at the moment, so it’s certainly unique for me from that perspective.
But oh Courtney would have really annoyed me as well. I hate it when characters seem to always do the opposite of what is safe. I mean maybe once or twice to get the plot moving but all the time? It’s like in horror films when the characters all split up and your screaming at them not to because they’re just going to get killed quicker. Yeah I can see why you may have been annoyed by her character a bit.

I feel strange writing this after a year, but I am new to this forum. It's not easy capturing feelings of a teenager but Brady has done it well. The review is also very insightful. I will definitely read it!
