I used to like action movies but it got to where they were all the same, nothing original in the plots, I just got tired of buying or renting them and watching the same thing over and over again. Now I mostly watch historical dramas, documentaries or old movies from the 40's and 50's which I have a good collection of. Ive never seen the Exorcist, but I read the book. I saw The Ring a couple years ago but I dont remember much about it, so it must not have impressed me that much. Im sure there are some very good newer horror movies out there, I just havent run across many of them.

The Ring was a good one. And I liked The Exorsism of Emily Rose from the new horrors.

But I like mostly European and Latin American cinema :) Or generally anything not made in Hollywood. They're more realistic and you never know how they'll end, unlike Hollywood productions which are totally predictable.

I like the foriegn movies, you are right about them not having predictible endings. I saw one on Turner Classic Movies a few years ago, it was Danish, called Ordette. It was one of the best films I have ever seen.

I haven't seen this one although I'm a big fan of Scandinavian movies :) I must remember the title :D

I think you would like it. I think it was filmed in the 50's or 60's, its black and white. Ill see if I can find it in some of my old TCM guides and give you a little more info.

For me, it would be a three way tie between Caddyshack, What About Bob?, and Rose Red.( as always, my choices are vastly different.)
:D lol "What about Bob?" , one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. :)

Hey Swing, I found a synopsis of Ordet in one of my old movie guides. It says, "A fundamentalist preacher clashes with a family whose faith surpasses his own." its from 1955, directed by Carl Theodor Dreyer. The stars are, Henrik Malberg, Emil Hass Christensen. I dont know where you could find a copy, you might check with turnerclassicmovies.com. they sometimes have those movies on dvd for sale. Its a good show, not predictable a very different storyline. :D I know, it dosent look like a rasberry button, I wouldnt have known the difference until you told me.

It's particularly humourous to me considering that I suffer from a form of neurosis similar to Bob's, albeit less comical.

Dr. Marvin: It's death therapy Bob, it's a guarenteed cure.

Thank you. I'm doing a lot better than I was last winter/spring; I'm not completely cured, nor do I think I'll ever be, but my condition is signifigantly stabilized. The thing I really regret though is that it caused me to be kicked out of one of the best private schools in my state and placed in a special ed program. To be honest though, I think it was a miracle I wasn't hospitalized.
