Sounds like a really interesting take on the butterfly effect. Great review, your synopsis made me really want to read the book.

The reviews seemed very helpful. The story sounds like it was good. The pictures and when the author would put in French words seemed like it messed up the book.

Great review. Jennifer sounds like quite an interesting character and the premise of someone going back 9000 years to live with superior strength and intelligence is quite intriguing. As you pointed out the pitfalls of the book I considered skipping it but the positive aspects seem to outweigh the negatives and my interest is certainly peaked. I'm going to give this one a chance. Thanks so much for sharing.

How humanity will be centuries from now, it's a mystery. Many authors have written about the future, and curiously, some have predicted it well. That part of the book sounds interesting; however, "the significant descriptions and instances of sex and sexual acts," are not for me. Thanks for your honest review!

I like this book, but I agree that the loss of purpose to the story after Jennifer is rescued is a problem. The drawings and the bad French also give me pause. Overall, I like the theme and the way in which Jennifer interacts with the twenty-first century humans. It is a good story, but needs a little more editing.

I was tempted to read it at first, but after reading your review, the prospect doesn't quite seem that appealing. Good review though.

While going through the sample, I was quite enthusiastic about the book but stepped it down a notch when I got to mention of graphic scenes. Good French, bad French, I wouldn't have had a clue, my eyes have the natural ability to skip past anything apart from 'Bonjour' or 'J'taime' or any other language I don't understand. However, this crystal clear review has just about revealed in details why the blockbuster movie images already conjuring up in my head suddenly evaporated in a puff of smoke. Once a story loses focus, I lose focus, boredom seeps in, then I start to wonder whether I need that much 'stress' in my life. I certainly enjoy time travels, it stimulates a LOT of thinking and I especially love female heroes so I do believe that angle is compensation enough. :tiphat:

What an interesting twist on a time travel / future story... sounds like the author worked in some thoughtful elements that are not always included in these types of stories, like her needing to hide her secret so actively.

Wonderfully honest review. A time travel mission to save humans from extinction sounds like an interesting read to me. Jennifer trying to fit into a society 9000 years in the past while not letting anyone know her secrets sounds rough but entertaining for the reader. Thanks for the discount and congrats on being BOTD.
