I think men and women try to please each other, just in different ways. In my experience, I have seen women doing things to please their men when it looked like the man was not reciprocating. But, being a woman, I can more easily read a woman's actions. Learning a bit more about about men and what they do to try to please their ladies has helped me understand that the man is making more of an effort than I realized. I just wasn't understanding the gestures at first. Once again this is just my own experience and opinion. There are couples where one partner may be putting in most of the effort. It was just helpful to me to learn that a man's actions may differ from a woman's and thus be more difficult for me to detect. You may be chuckling right now because you already knew this. Since I just learned it, I feel I've unearthed a long hidden pirates' treasure of magnificent value. Lol.

I agree with gali on this one, as well. Both sides should try to please each other, but out of love and not duty. Marriage is not a duty, but is done out of love that is shared between two people.
Absolutely! It takes two to make a marriage work; therefore, it takes two people to nurture each other, with love. Love escapes when it becomes a duty.
Life without a good book is something MrsCatInTheHat cannot imagine.

For example in a typical African society women must submit to their husbands and do their bidding or else suffer the consequences. Therefore the women always think it best to please the men and make them happy so as to avoid being shunned by the husband , family and society
Oh yes that's true in african society.

There is nothing wrong with trying to please your partner. It is just that it should be an equal effort and not a one sided affair.

It's so hard to set yourself apart from society's rules and demand and even sometimes imposed obligations. My part of the world, it's a failure if a woman doesn't do and give her best to please the man, wether it being your husband, father, brother or uncles. It's a tiring obligation, and it needs to stop. Women need to feel enough with what they contribute, they need to be allowed to choose how much of themselves they are willing to invest in all relationships. The demands on women need to stop :hand:

I think women do try to please their men. But it should not just be the women who would please their partners. It should be a two-way process. Otherwise, the relationship won't work.

As long as it's not one sided, I'm okay with pleasing whoever I date.

I think most women try to please their man...why wouldn't we? The problem comes in when the man in question thinks it's the woman's DUTY to please him. Lara and Nadia were from a culture that still believes women are required to please their men, and men are allowed to do absolutely anything they please without consequenceses.

Yes, I do think that women try to please their men. I also think that it works the other way around as well. I feel like it's natural to want to nurture and take care of what (or who) is yours. There's something very satisfying about knowing you've made someone you love happy. I don't look at it as a duty, so much as a desire to bring joy to each other.

Yes, women do try to please their men in everyday life and in every possible way. The same is true vice versa. The interest in the partner is what keeps the relationship going for a couple.

I totally agree with her. Where I come from we are taught from childhood that women should be submissive to me and nothing short of that should be the case. That's the culture. So it happens all the time women work hard to please men. Personally I think both men and women should work towards pleasing each other for a relationship to be fulfilling.

It is true, but men also try to please their women. It goes both ways, and the operative word is "try". I don't believe anyone can please another person enough. We should all be responsible for our own happiness.

I agree that women should try tomplease their men, and vice versa, BUT what i don't believe is that each partner should loose themselves in trying to satisfy the other. Personal space and happiness is key to being able to love whole heartedly, and thay can never be accomplished by forgetting and sacrificing yourself in entirety for another

Isn't there any instance that the men would try to please their women? Because if not, then why would the women even want to stick to their men?
