I have to agree with you on this. Equally, my husband always discusses possible changes with me as well, even if it is within the same company.

Very insightful! I agree. Perhaps I would have chosen career before meeting my husband, but now couldn't imagine doing so.

if I were in a situation to choose between career and love, I need to choose the choice that I will never regret in my life, the choice that would make me contented. The choice that is worthy of the sacrifice that I will do. I will always go with love for I can't take the chance of ever hurting them, an opportunity may come once but second chances may come twice, or thrice.

Good question! I've never had to make this choice, but if I did, I would choose career. My career is my passion, it gives me indescribable joy and a lust for life. Without that, I really wouldn't be me. It would have to be my career.

I did choose love once before but I can't really say I'm better for it right now. To give up your career you need to be sure that person is worth it.

As someone who has just been relegated to second place by someone who chose his career and a move three states over, I'd choose career as well. No way am I bothering with love.

Career and love both are important in one's life. If I had to make a choice I would like to chose both. I don't feel any regret.

Definitely love. I haven't read the book so I don't know why the choice is necessary. However, if the career has some ethical issue that forces the main character to make such a decision, then it sounds like the time anyway for a new choice in career. Good question!

I chose love. I don't regret it most days, but occasionally I do wonder "What if?" But dreams change as you get older, and I have changed plans and dreams so many times, that I believe I made the right choice.

If I thought it was the real deal, long lasting, my soulmate, the future father of my children, yes. That actually makes me ask if those who are choosing career are choosing it over shorter term relationships, that are not fully committed. love.

I'm single, so it's easy for me to focus on my career. I chose career because right now it's my main ambition. Eventually, I do want to be married and I'm sure my answer would change, ESPECIALLY if children are in the picture. As for now, I'm focused more on furthering myself in my career rather than seeking romance. So speaking only for myself, I'm choosing career over any kind of romantic relationship.
