I really like this forum, theres so many things to talk about, I like the variety.I dont like facebook, everyone wants to play those stupid games and other silliness. I think this forum is more adult.

Have you been to the "Last Post Wins" thread? :D but in general yeah, I don't use FB either, the very idea of posting some photos or stuff makes me sick. Plus, I don't really want to talk to people from High School, so not using FB helps a lot :D

Edit: using this forum a FB is like the difference between QIP and ICQ clients.

I just went to the last post wins, from what I saw on it it looks like the height of silliness.

Ah hell why so serious folks?

A bit of harmless nonsense now and again .... preferable to invading countries and things like that anyway.

These forums can be promoted by the same techniques you'd use to promote a regular website, or any other business for that matter.

Are you willing to spend money on marketing?
Do you want online or offline marketing?

If you are willing to spend some money, you could use the same slew of marketing devices used by companies: coffee cups, pens, highlighters, paper pads, etc. Perhaps get some bookmarks printed and drop them off at the local library or college for people to help themselves to them.

These forums are already at the top of a Google search for book reader forums, so you don't need an AdWords campaign, but you might consider creating a Facebook campaign. It is more effective than AdWords because it connects people's interests with your ads. Perhaps create a campaign that max's out at $50 per month.

If you just want some free online marketing, submit to forum directories, stumble the forums, and bookmark them. I am planning to bookmark these forums on Delicious; doing so would be more effective if several people did it over a small time interval. For example, if we picked a particular morning, and several of us bookmarked these forums on that morning, this site would probably be displayed on the Delicious front page and could create a lot of traffic here.
