The Power Experiment: An Original Sex-Fantasy Engineering Project and a Philosophy of Heterosexual Interaction Designed by The Rock Hard Dinosaur Killer is a research on adult physical relationship by Stephen A. Dimery, B. Sc..
The book features various sexual fantasies to help loving couples improve their relationship through sexual activities. It includes definition of terms, a chart of ‘The Sex Deity Club’ which presents one resident male deity (Rock Hard Dinosaur Killer), ten resident female deities and thirty two party female guests. It also includes a list of stereotype character classification and sample profiles.
The book discusses mental tools including engineering, sexuality, power and love as well as three sexuality options and several types of belief machines (Male Sex-Lovers’ Belief Machines and Female Sex-Lovers’ Belief Machines as perceived by The Rock Hard Dinosaur Killer). Moreover, the author includes a relatively long list of women’s comments that The Rock Hard Dinosaur likes to hear, comments which, presumably, turn the lovers on.
This is, basically, a very interesting book with two different writing styles. Though most part of the book is written in academic manner, the most important components, the sexual fantasies, are written in explicit and titillating language, and besides a few noticeable errors (like ‘to chose’ instead of ‘to choose’ and ‘when you’re lover’ instead of ‘when your lover’) the book is, generally, well-written. It is sensual, which serves the purpose of the book, fun, amusing, entertaining and, probably in some cases, enlightening.
However, I have some issues regarding the entire book. First, there is an overwhelming number of terms being defined which I find unnecessary like the definitions of lifestyle or religion. Second, it is not clear to me if the members of The Sex-Deity Club are real persons and if they really performed any kind of experiment pertinent to the creation of the book. Third, I don’t understand the purpose of including sample profiles which occupy several pages of the book. Moreover, there are subtopics that are difficult to place with regards to their significance to the book like the Solutions because they seem to be just like the Belief Machines. The same goes with the Final Clue. Fourth, I am under the impression that this is a research paper (experiment) so I am expecting some references in the form of web links or printed materials to back up some claims and conclusions. The lack of references makes the book sound too subjective. Fifth, I find a few parts of the book to be irrelevant like the songs, poems and joke. Finally, moralists may find this book unorthodox and, somehow, perverted.
I, therefore, rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. It is interesting, entertaining and enlightening. I recommend it to couples who want to experience new sexual adventures which may help strengthen their relationships. However, this book is strictly for matured readers only because some scenes and languages are not suitable for young readers. Moreover, warnings from the author are better be heeded by readers who may be interested to try the techniques discussed in the book.
