This sounds like a movie series. I love movies. I wish this would be one playing in a big screen. This is a must read story. Congrats to the writer.

I'm glad the book tackles some important subjects, but I just can't get into romances these days, so I'll pass. But I'm sure others who do like that genre will be convinced by your great review.

Vengeance Tip of the Spear Book 2 By Belle Ami is a sexy thriller teeming with romantic suspense.
Layla had experienced many firsts in her life. Being kidnapped in Dubai and taken to Iran was a first she’d rather forget. Happily, that first led to her meeting the most irresistible man in the world, Cyrus, her personal Superman. The first time she’d ever made love was with Cyrus, she knew he was the only man she'd ever love. Their first night of passionate lovemaking resulted in the birth of Cerise, their four-year-old daughter.

But no matter how many things went right, she still feared losing Cyrus and Cerise. Experience had taught her life was a roller coaster, lifting her to dizzying heights. Then just when she thought it could only get better and she found herself tilting sideways, spiraling down, and helplessly plummeting toward earth. She could see the ground, feel the drop she knew how easy it would be to fall and lose everything.

Layla is living her dream, curating a major art exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art. She has it all, a fabulous career, the perfect marriage and the perfect child. She’s madly in love with her husband Cyrus Hassani, a Mossad agent, and lives in Tel Aviv with their four-year-old daughter Cerise. Her life takes a disastrous turn when she’s kidnapped by Iranian terrorists during the bombing of a restaurant in Manhattan. Chained to a bed at a remote location, Layla is a pawn in a deadly game. She’s the bait to lure Cyrus to his death.

Driven by vengeance and a love that knows no bounds, Cyrus will do anything to rescue his wife and stop the terrorist’s plot to blow up a nuclear facility. Teaming up with the FBI he’s the only man capable of stopping a bombing that would result in the deaths of millions of people. Filled with vengeance, stopping the terrorists is his goal, but saving Layla is his mission.

Layla knows her Superman, Cyrus, is coming to save her. She also knows, unbeknownst to him, that by doing so it will mean the death of their child. Caught in a mousetrap, she struggles to find a way out of her deadly situation and to fend off the sexual advances of the kidnapper terrorist who’s fallen in love with her.Layla must make a choice, save her child or sacrifice herself and her marriage.

A well-researched tale, scary in its possibility, packed with excitement, it will leave you breathlessly turning pages.I rate it 4 out of 4 because it is a well-established plot-line tale with brilliant teachings.

I'm so on the fence about book twos. On one hand I love book twos that can stand alone, and I don't have to read the first one. But on the other hand, I don't like to read the intro getting to know you part all over again if I've already read book one. LOL It's a love hate relationship I guess. HA!

I'm glad when a sequel, albeit benefited by having read the first, can easily stand up on its own. It sounds like this one has some pretty powerful themes and looks to be another solid addition to Belle Ami's repertoire.

Thanks for the review. I was worried that not reading the first book would be an issue, but based on your review that won't be a problem at all! Love strong female characters in books. Looking forward to checking this out

It is interesting that Belle Ami's Vengeance has a lot of contemporary issues like kidnapping, terrorism, PTSD and rape, woven into its storyline. I find Layla's character very remarkable. I enjoyed the review.

Nice review. This book sounds quite intriguing with its mix of romance, suspense and international intrigue. I like that the lead female character Layla is a strong woman as well as the FBI agent Cass. It’s also nice that even though this is second in a series it can be read as a stand alone. Congrats to the author on a great review. Thanks so much for sharing.

I have the same fear that second books in the series might be confusing without reading the first book. It's good to know that this one can be read without reading the first book. Layla's story is interesting as well. Thank you for your review!

A very clear and interesting review making it very easy to determine whether the book should be added to my bookshelves. The writing style is easy to follow and the plot sounds exciting and tense. Not sure if it is wise to have such a similar plot to the first book in the series, but as a stand-alone novel it works.
