The reviewer was pretty enthusiastic about the book and it does seem to be full of action with the mysterious Order hunting the female quadruplets to sacrifice them in order to get their power. And I find it really good that the book has enough twists and turn to make the plot somewhat unpredictable. The only fact that does not appeal to me is that a lot of people say that the book ends abruptly demanding a sequel and I don't do cliffhangers, at least not until I have the whole "collection".

This totally sounds like my kind of book! I love stories dealing with the four elements and the fact that each of four sisters can harness or control them is super fascinating. I also like the idea of reading about each of the girls individually before reading about them as a group, though it's a pity some of it is rushed. Stories about people being [potentially] sacrificed also get me going, so this one will definitely be on my Must-Read list.

Thanks for the review. Just read the sample and I agree, the book seems to have an interesting plot and intriguing characters. I must admit the idea of the four elements is not that new to me. I was also a bit bothered by the long prologue which, for me, crammed a lot of information. But that's just my take though :) It seems the strength of the story is going to be on the characterization. The first sister seemed likable enough and I did like the vivid descriptions in the narrative. The sample wasn't a total wow for me, but as a fantasy lover, I think I'd give this book a try.

This sounds like such an interesting plot and I love when an author can manage more than one or two protagonists without making their personalities blend together. I’m a little sad to hear that the antagonists are purely evil. I love a good sympathetic villain, but perhaps with more books to come that can be expanded on!

Good review!

I think the sample was well written, after reading your review I think it's a book I'd enjoy and I'm due a light read. I love their names, and I'm pleased the sisters are unique and well developed characters. Might make for a good movie too, what do you think?

Loved the beginning of the book with the introduction of the four girls. Then the pace quickened so rapidly I had to reread some parts to understand what was happening. I still think it has potential though and am interested in seeing how it turns out.

Great review. I was sucked right into the story when I read the sample and your review makes me want to finish reading it. I wish it did tell us more about the villains in the book as you mentioned.

I agree - the surface-level world-building caught my attention time and time again. I wonder if the next book will build more on that? It was a great light read, not something that I couldn't read at bed time, which is sometimes just what I need! I enjoyed the way the sisters were all unique characters with just enough differences to make them their own persons, but enough in common to make them feel like sisters waiting to be reunited. The pacing of the book was great, too. It flew by!

It's a shame that the pacing was too fast, but it seems like you really enjoyed the book regardless. I have a feeling that it's not a book for me, but it's such an interesting premise that I have to give it a try anyway. Thanks for the review!
