As a fan of the fantasy genre, this book sounds like one I would want to read. It has multiple protagonists, an evil mysterious group, and elemental magic which all hints at an exciting story. On the other hand, the story seems to be on the lighter side which may not appeal to some (myself included).
A great man is someone whose whisper is heard even in a noisy crowd.

My 15-year-old past self is jumping for joy at the review.
I was alllll about elemental magic and sisterhood when I was younger. Add in a little romance and world travel and you got me hooked!

This book instantly captured my attention when I read the sample. I read a lot of heavy, deep thinking books, so there are many times when I want to have a fast-paced, light read. It doesn't matter if the characters are super deep, as long as they are compellingly written and the book is reasonably error free and grammatically correct. There are times when I just want the bad guys to be bad guys, and the good guys to be good guys. :) Thanks for the review.

This looks like a very interesting and quick read! The plot intrigued me and I love that the main characters are female. I’ll check this out.

This is a well written review, but I'm not sure this one is for me. When an author is dealing with such well-worn tropes like the Chosen One (or Ones, in this case) and Elemental Powers, they really need to be able to present it in a way that is compelling enough for readers to forget that we've already seen this scenario played out many times before. From the book synopsis and review, this just sounds like more of the same. I'm glad that you enjoyed it, though.

It sounds as if the author did a good job in developing the characters. I wonder if their personalities matched the four elements they could control? That's an interesting idea amongst what admittedly sounds like a somewhat unremarkable plot.

This sounds like a good, easy read. I like the mysterious aspect as well as the idea of having four female lead characters. Great review.

MarisaRose wrote: 10 Jun 2017, 14:46 There is no doubt that there is a lot to like about this book; the characters are enjoyable and the story easily holds your attention. However, there isn’t a great deal of depth to the world the author has created. To be fair, this is the first book in the series and it is likely that plenty will be revealed in later installments. Nevertheless, the bad guys in this book are just bad; they are mysterious and evil, and not much is known about them. The romantic element is, at times, predictable. And the main characters’ outcomes are not always shocking.
This pretty much was my impression after reading the sample. Thank you for confirming it :)

This is a great review as it reveals the plot of the novel without any spoiler. It has even brought up my curiosity as I want to download the book myself and see just how amazing and funny the characters are :) . But I'm also wondering how come the book earned a 4 out of 4 if it wasn't enthralling enough to make you wish for you to read the next book in the series immediately?

Having only read the sample of this book so far, I can agree with the review that this plot is indeed lacking but definitely still worth the read. Courtney is spot on in saying that it could use more depth in the aspect of world building, but it seems that this novel is merely introducing the four sisters and like she said, the world will be laid out in later novels. Thoroughly enjoyed reading this review and look forward to finishing this novel.

Good characters make up a good fantasy novel and when you have powerful female characters like these that embody the natural elements, the book has the potential for great success. I'll have to give this one the benefit of the doubt on its negative elements mentioned in the review and give it a shot!

Well, I love stories about controlling natural elements and reunions so this looks like a double package. Bonus points since it feels like a YA/fantasy books despite the ages of the protagonists. It seems to have made its way up my TBR ladder. Thanks for the telling review!

Great review! I'm interested in giving this one a go based on the fact that you stated the four female protagonists are well-developed characters. It's quite unusual to come across four characters that are treated with the same level of depth and individuality. You've definitely swayed me towards giving this one a shot.
